2015 Season Countdown List

2015 Season Countdown List

September 2, 2015

Phew! This all started on May 31st with John O’Korn, and now I can breathe a sigh of relief. After 91 profiles of Michigan football players, yet another season of the countdown is complete. Some players have disappeared (Dennis Norfleet, Ondre Pipkins, Dan Samuelson), some have suffered injuries (Bryan Mone), and some have already seemingly outplayed their rankings in practice. In the meantime, I spent a couple weeks on vacation, started two-a-day football practices at the beginning of August, and launched the new website. Way back in May, I scheduled this post to go up on September 1 – here it is 24 hours late. I hope you enjoyed the countdown, and Go Blue!

(Due to the length of the post, please hit the jump and click on any of the names for their individual profiles. Profiles #21-61 will take you to the old site due to some technical issues with the transfer.)

Seeing it all in summary context like this is like reading it all new and fresh all over again.

You were quite prescient with your pick of Andrew David at 69 with Kyle Seychel coming in at #24. The depth chart bears this out.

As I sit here a few hours over 24 before kickoff, I’m thinking this season really could swing wildly — 6-6 or 10-2 — depending on a lot of factors.

I am eagerly awaiting tomorrow night’s game. The crazed sports fan in me would love to see big plays and a wild game; the Michigan fan in me wants to see a remorseless grinding down of Utah with the outcome not in doubt from the first set of plays on. I hope beyond hope we see Michigan offensive line dominate Utah; and Michigan’s defensive line in the backfield all night long. I want to see Utah players standing sullen on their sideline while Michigan players, even in certain victory, staying focused and intent on the game.

    🙂

WOTS is that Kenny Allen may be the placekicker tomorrow. Either way, it seems David is 3rd on the depth chart.

Great work Thunder. I know this is time consuming, but it is fun to watch as the countdown goes on.

Thanks! It’s fun to do, too. The biggest issue is when the countdown post + the nightly link + whatever else (commitments, recruiting updates, rankings updates, etc.) make me have to do three posts a day…

      But oh well. I lived!
