Michigan will be hosting numerous football prospects on July 29, 2017, for the BBQ at the Big House. Last year there were travel issues for many prospects, who were unable to visit in August after their high school teams’ practices started. This year the BBQ is a week earlier, which should make for fewer conflicts. Here’s an early look at several players who plan to attend:

2018

Bryan Addison – S – Gardena (CA) Junipero Serra: Addison is a 6’4″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #4 athlete, and #146 overall. Michigan does not have any Crystal Ball picks right now, with USC leading the way at 50%.

Eyabi Anoma – DE – Baltimore (MD) St. Frances: Anoma is a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #3 weakside end, and #54 overall.

Rafiti Ghirmai – OT – Frisco (TX) Wakeland: Ghirmai is a 6’4″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, and Texas, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #20 offensive tackle, and #273 overall. The Crystal Ball favors Texas at 92% right now.

Gemon Green – CB – DeSoto (TX) DeSoto: Green committed to Michigan in April (LINK). He’s a 3-star, the #32 cornerback, and #340 overall.

He’s a 5-star, the #1 running back, and #16 overall for the 2019 class. While he’s listed as a running back, I think he will probably end up on defense.

J.T. Daniels – QB – Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei: Daniels is a 6’2″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Stanford, among others. That must be a glitch in WordPress or the widget code. I didn’t change anything, but it also won’t accept my attempt to change the settings. I simply removed the widget for now. Hopefully they get it patched soon.

I had the same question as Roanman. I figured you were under some type of site construction revision. If you decide you want these discussions on the sidebar can the sign in and recent comments be flipped to the top?

No Dobbs or Brown in the 2019 class? Is that a bit concerning? It didn’t sound like Dobbs spoke very highly of Michigan so maybe that’s not a surprise. OT’s are always recruited so 2 local guys like this would seem automatic.

It’s still a couple weeks away from the BBQ, so those could be added to the visitors list. But Michigan isn’t leading for either one, in my opinion. Michigan is near the top for Brown, but Wisconsin was his first big offer. And Dobbs doesn’t seem extremely interested in Michigan. I don’t think it’s too concerning because there are other good prospects available, but obviously, it would be nice to get those guys, too.

    Thunder,
Do you have time to do a post BBQ update to this list? I heard many of the recruits on this list ended up not coming: 2018’s Addison & Anoma and 2019’s Cooper, Williams & Washington. I was wondering if more did not show up and what the reason was for so many no shows.

Honestly, now that practice has begun, I’m having a hard time keeping up with my regular posting. So I probably won’t be doing an update. Sorry.
