COMMITMENT

Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson announced his intention to transfer to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

Zephyrhills (FL) Wesley Chapel cornerback Isaiah Bolden decommitted from Oregon. He will probably be following Willie Taggart to Florida State.

Colony (CA) Colony tight end Michael Ezeike decommitted from Oregon. He’s a 4-star, the #13 tight end, and #251 overall. It’s unclear if Michigan will pursue him, as they have two tight end commits already and are pursuing Georgia’s Tommy Tremble. Ezeike is a wide receiver/tight end hybrid type of player.

Yoakum (TX) Yoakum wide receiver Joshua Moore decommitted from Nebraska. He’s a 4-star, the #17 wide receiver, and #85 overall. Michigan was never really involved prior to his commitment, and I doubt they will become a factor now.

Hit the jump for the rest of the update.

Mission Viejo (CA) Mission Viejo offensive tackle Jarrett Patterson decommitted from Arizona State. He’s a 4-star, the #25 offensive tackle, and #359 overall. Patterson took an official visit to Michigan this past weekend and has a scheduled visit to UCLA. In the end, it will probably be either the Bruins or Wolverines earning a commitment.

Muskegon (MI) Muskegon offensive tackle Antwan Reed decommitted from Penn State. The 6’6″, 326-pounder is originally from Muskegon but transferred to Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy briefly before returning. Michigan has not been recruiting him for a long time and likely won’t get involved again.

OFF THE BOARD

Gardena (CA) Junipero Serra wide receiver/safety Bryan Addison committed to UCLA. Addison was always a longshot to come to Michigan, but he visited campus this fall and seemed to have mutual interest. His commitment to the Bruins was not a surprise, but it is a disappointment.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy offensive guard Curtis Dunlap, Jr. committed to Minnesota. A former Florida commit, Dunlap was not being pursued by Michigan.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy offensive tackle Daniel Fa’alele committed to Minnesota. Fa’alele was always intriguing as a 6’8″, 395-pounder who is actually quite athletic. However, he’s from Australia – where Michigan had a satellite visit two summers ago – and was very raw. He could very well turn out to be a solid player down the road, but the Wolverines stopped recruiting him.

Warner Robins (GA) Houston offensive guard Trey Hill committed to Georgia. He was an SEC kid all the way.

Jacksonville (FL) Trinity safety Tyreke Johnson committed to Ohio State. I really like Johnson and think he might be the top safety on Michigan’s offer board in the 2018 class, but he never showed much interest in playing for the Wolverines.

West Palm Beach (FL) Oxbridge Academy safety Cajuan “C.J.” Smith committed to Nebraska. He’s the first commit for new Nebraska head coach Scott Frost. Smith was committed to Florida at one point.

West Des Moines (IA) Dowling Catholic defensive end John Waggoner committed to Iowa. He’s the #21 weakside end and #347 overall. Iowa has done pretty well with producing defensive players, and they landed 5-star defensive end A.J. Epenesa in the last class. You can’t blame an Iowa defensive lineman for becoming a Hawkeye.

MISCELLANEY

Norcross (GA) Wesleyan tight end Tommy Tremble will announce his commitment on Thursday, December 14. He’s a Georgia legacy, but it seems to be coming down to Michigan, Notre Dame, or UCLA. He visited Michigan for the Ohio State game and flew to UCLA this past weekend.

Valdosta (GA) Lowndes running back Michael Barrett is considering a commitment on Thursday, as well. It’s his birthday on Thursday, and announcing his college decision could be a fun way to celebrate. He’s also reportedly considering Georgia Tech, who is recruiting him as a triple option quarterback.

Here’s a list of players who visited Michigan this past weekend (LINK).

Moore looks like a nice WR prospect. Speaking of which….if Tarik Black wants to play, why not let him? Do we honestly think he is at UM for 4 more year? Maybe I am wrong!
