ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

Allen (TX) Lovejoy linebacker Bumper Pool was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Arkansas, and Oklahoma State, among others. Yes, his real name is indeed Bumper James Morris Pool. In six games with stats reported in 2015, he made 68 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery.

Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, and Utah, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #4 dual-threat quarterback, and #73 overall. As a sophomore on 2015, he was 11/17 for 179 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT; he also ran 21 times for 179 yards and 3 TDs, and he made 5 catches for 54 yards. Those are pretty paltry numbers for a star quarterback, but that’s because he was a backup to 2017 prospect Tate Martell, a former Texas A&M commit who is likely to end up signing with Ohio State (EDIT: after I scheduled this post, Martell committed to OSU last night). The Wolverines are also recruiting 2017 wideout Tyjon Lindsey, 2017 cornerback Alex Perry, and 2018 linebacker Palaie Gaoteote from Bishop Gorman. Thompson-Robinson’s mother is a Michigan graduate, he has visited previously, and he plans to come back for the Aerial Assault QB Camp in a week.

Hit the jump for a new 2019 offer, the first 2020 offer, and some other bits.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Baltimore (MD) Gilman linebacker Shane Lee was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Maryland and Syracuse. Lee is a stout inside linebacker prospect who did not look like a freshman when he played last year. He attends the alma mater of Michigan fullback Henry Poggi and was coached last season by Poggi’s father, Biff.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2020

Miami (FL) Columbus linebacker Courtney Holmes was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 185 lb. prospect whose first offer is from the Wolverines. He attended a Michigan satellite camp in South Florida, and as a 2020 recruit, he hasn’t played a down of high school football yet. In fact, he’s Michigan’s first offer in the 2020 class. I haven’t been able to find any highlights or much additional information, but Miami Columbus is the alma mater of incoming freshman defensive end Joshua Uche.

MISCELLANEY

Detroit (MI) Cass Tech cornerback Kalon Gervin, a 2018 prospect, named Michigan to his top six. The other five are Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Here’s the running list of satellite camps (LINK).

A few players visited Michigan this past weekend, and here they are (LINK).

Whoosh, Dorian Thompson-Robinson. There was a time in my life I would have likely killed for that kind of acceleration. Throw in just the quickest cuts imaginable and ….. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but this kid reminds me of someone.

Michigan Mom or not, if i’m this kid I’m texting RR while praying to God that he stays/keeps his job and that Al Borges’ fat, bald self never darkens the door of my meeting room.

If any of you get the chance to see a Gorman game here in Vegas it should be on your list of “must” things to do. Everything is a very over the top “Vegas Style” production at their games. I really haven’t had a real good chance to watch DTR play because of this one kid that starts ahead of him the last couple of years….

If Thompson-Robinson commits sometime down the road, maybe you can report back with a guest post, some pictures, or something. Just a thought. We played one team a few years ago in the playoffs that really had an over-the-top production. It was weird/strange/annoying, but you can get away with if you’re good, I guess.

It would be an honor to post my $.02 on this site if DTR commits, but to be honest, I’d be doing it an injustice. There’s so much YouTube stuff and ESPN coverage out there on Gorman. I’ve linked last year’s highlight video as an example. It kinda gives you something to whet your palette between the half dozen uniform changes (including cheerleaders), the Hi-Def video wall in the end zone, the smoke/fog coming through the inflatable tunnel for the team’s entrance, 3500 sq ft state of the art weight room etc… Side bonus is some highlight footage of Tyjon Lindsey playing for Gorman before he transferred back to Cali…
