2020 Defensive Recruiting Update: February 22, 2018

Michigan has now offered 81 players in the class of 2020. Here are a bunch of the newest offers:

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2020

St. Louis (MO) Lutheran North defensive end Kevon Billingsley was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 245 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, among others. He could play anywhere from strongside end to defensive tackle to interior offensive line.

Valdosta (GA) Lonwdes cornerback Josh Brown was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 165 lb. prospect, and Michigan is his first and only offer. Brown is a teammate of 2018 Michigan signee Michael Barrett.

Powder Springs (GA) McEachern defensive tackle Jamil Burroughs was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Mars (PA) Mars defensive end Michael Carmody was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Maryland, Pitt, and Temple.

Tampa (FL) Berkeley Prep linebacker Jaylen Harrell was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 210 lb. prospect with offers from Ohio State, Oklahoma, and South Florida, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #3 outside linebacker, and #22 overall. Michigan practiced at Berkeley Prep during preparations for the Outback Bowl, and Harrell is a teammate of 2018 offensive tackle Nick Petit-Frere (Ohio State), who was high on Michigan for a while.

Cincinnati (OH) Princeton defensive end Darrion Henry was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 260 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa and . . . Ohio State, who offered a few days ago. So we can probably say goodbye to Michigan’s chances of landing him.

Washington (DC) St. John’s defensive end Greg Hudgins III was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 226 lb. prospect with offers from Indiana and Maryland. Hudgins is a teammate of 2018 quarterback Kevin Doyle, who was committed to Michigan before flipping to Arizona.

Columbia (SC) Hammond defensive tackle Alex Huntley was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia and South Carolina.

Fort Washington (MD) National Christian Academy cornerback Josh Moten was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 165 lb. prospect with offers from Maryland, Oklahoma, Penn State, and South Carolina, among others. He’s a teammate of several new Michigan offerees, including 2019 offensive tackle William Harrod.

West Bloomfield (MI) West Bloomfield safety Makari Paige was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 182 lb. prospect with offers from Indiana, Kentucky, and Minnesota, among others. He’s a teammate of 2019 linebacker offeree Lance Dixon, 2019 wideout offeree Tre Mosley, and 2020 linebacker Cornell Wheeler (see below). All are coached by former Michigan wide receiver Ronald Bellamy.

Washington (DC) St. John’s defensive end Mekhail Sherman was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 234-pounder with offers from Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #5 outside lienbacker, and #50 overall. He’s a teammate of Hudgins (see above).

Akron (OH) Hoban linebacker DeaMonte Trayanum was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, and West Virginia. Trayanum took a visit to Michigan in early February. He’s a teammate of 2019 Michigan commit Nolan Rumler.

West Bloomfield (MI) West Bloomfield linebacker Cornell Wheeler was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Syracuse and Toledo. He’s a teammate of Paige (see above).

Oakdale (CT) St. Thomas More defensive tackle Tre’ Williams was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Ohio State, Penn State, and Pitt, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #6 defensive tackle, and #51 overall.
