2021 Defensive Recruiting Update: April 16, 2019

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2021

Kechaun Bennett – DE – Suffield (CT) Suffield Academy: Bennett is a 6’4″, 215-pounder with an offer from Tennessee. Suffield is the alma mater of Michigan safety Brad Hawkins.

T.J. Bollers – DE – Tiffin (IA) Clear Creek Amana: Bollers is a 6’3″, 241 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Iowa State, and Minnesota, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #14 weakside end, and #207 overall. As a sophomore in 2018, he made 45.5 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks.

Naquan Brown – DE – Virginia Beach (VA) Ocean Lakes: Brown is a 6’3″, 200 lb. prospect with offers from Penn State, Pitt, and Virginia, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #7 weakside end, and #103 overall.

Logan Fano – LB – Provo (UT) Timpview: Fano is a 6’4″, 210-pounder who has been committed to BYU for two years; he also has offers from Arizona State, Utah, and Utah State. He visited Michigan at the end of March.

TreVeyon Henderson – CB – Hopewell (VA) Hopewell: Henderson is a 5’10”, 170 lb. corner with offers from Boston College, Indiana, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #21 athlete, and #219 overall.

Terry Lockett – DT – Springfield (MA) Central: Lockett is a 6’2″, 240 lb. prospect whose only other offer comes from UMass. He’s currently unranked by the recruiting sites.

Sage Ryan – S – Lafayette (LA) Christian: Ryan is a 5’11”, 193-pounder with offers from Colorado, LSU, Tennessee, and Virginia. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #5 athlete, and #48 overall. He claims a 4.45 forty and a 4.37 shuttle. 247 compares him to Jabrill Peppers (LINK).

    Sage Ryan can be on my team.

    I would say that we’ll never get him out of Louisiana except for that Dax Hill thing which I find to be incredible to this instant.

      Yeah…I mean, I’ve always thought that Michigan was missing a chance to get in on some talent, because they often ignore the Great Plains states. I don’t think there’s the same pull in the Great Plains as there is in the Deep South. When it comes to trying to pull guys out of Mississippi and Louisiana, I don’t have much confidence. I think Michigan could get more top-end Oklahoma talent if they really try.
