Chris Wormley to Ravens in 3rd round (#74 overall)

April 28, 2017

The Baltimore Ravens picked Chris Wormley at #74 overall in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Wormley was coached by Jim Harbaugh in college and will be coached by John Harbaugh in the NFL. This is a great pick for the Ravens, getting a guy who was thought of by some as a late 1st rounder or most likely a 2nd round guy.

Agree. This is a big, big man who is also extremely intelligent and has the respect of his coaches and teammates both, as evidenced by his being named team Captain. At Michigan, like most schools that take their leadership seriously, this is a huge honor. And just how close are Mattison and any of the Harbaughs? To get him in the third round might not constitute a coup, but I have no problem going as far as saying I think this pick will pay dividends for years. As poorly as their equally highly ranked offensive counterparts performed over the same time period, this group had solid coaching for their entire time at Michigan and showed what you want to see: steady improvement each year. Good get, Ravens. He’s also a hell of a man.

Seemed like a 2nd rounder to me. Ravens got a nice player who can start for years. You know the Ravens had good intel from Harbaugh and Mattison.
