A poster on The Fort claims that Ben Braden was put on a medical watch list (due to his back injuries), and the NFL vetoed his draft selection…in the 3rd round. Supposedly, a team tried to pick him and actually called him to let him know, but that was before Braden, his agent, and even the team knew that the medical watch list prevented him from getting drafted. Since it’s a pre-existing injury that concerns the NFL, he would have to pay for any medical issues for his back out of his own pocket.
If that is indeed the case, then I doubt he ever plays in the NFL. He wouldn’t get a huge contract as an UDFA, and the risk of having to pay for his own back injuries might be too much for him to take on.
