Recruit Tracker: Dylan McCaffrey

I’m trying a new thing with the recruiting tracker this year. Instead of updating old blog posts, I’m going to put these here and try to update them each week. Of course, readers/fans can also add videos, stats, comments, etc. to the thread.

August 27, 2016: McCaffrey’s Highlands Ranch (CO) Valor Christian squad lost to Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro by a score of 49-28. McCaffrey went 16/24 for 205 yards, 1 TD, and 0 INT; he also ran 13 times for 56 yards and 1 TD; and he caught 1 pass for a 25-yard TD. Valor Christian is 0-1.

Yeah, it’s kind of a mish-mash of schemes. I think that’s what you have to do to cover up for some of their athletic deficiencies, at least against other good teams. I was not impressed with the guys at Valor Christian’s skill positions.

September 2, 2016: McCaffrey went 14/26 for 127 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in a 41-10 loss to Denver (CO) Mullen. He also ran 11 times for 34 yards. So far this year he’s 30/50 for 332 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He also has 24 carries for 90 yards and 1 catch for a 25-yard touchdown. Valor Christian is now 0-2.

September 30, 2016: Valor Christian beat Cherry Creek by a score of 42-26. McCaffrey was 20/31 passing for 336 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He also had 8 carries for 28 yards and 1 touchdown. Valor Christian is 2-3.

October 28, 2016: McCaffrey was 12/13 for 194 yards for 2 touchdowns and 1 interceptions. He also had a 1-yard run for a touchdown in the 49-14 win over Poudre (CO) Poudre. Valor Christian is now 5-3.

November 4, 2016: McCaffrey was 14/22 for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns, along with 2 carries for 14 yards, in Valor Christian’s 45-0 win over Fountain-Fort Carson. Valor Christian is now 6-3 on the year.
