MLive: Kareem Walker learned from humbling year, has grades in order for 2017

Kareem Walker was a highly touted running back who enrolled early and probably didn’t expect to redshirt this year. But he had some struggles and sat out the entire season (LINK). Hopefully he’s ready to go next year.

Can’t wait to see him in the spring. He was probably a over-hyped in HS, but he seems like a back who really fits harbaughs power game. Even if Najee Harris signs, I could still see Walker in the group of top three RBs next season. His emergence pretty much guarantees that Isaac won’t be back.

Good news if he’s cleared to play and has the chops. if the coaches like what they see, yeah, they may feel more comfortable about giving Isaac the handshake. If Harris lands here too, that’s probably a done deal. I could see them keeping an OK backup 5th year senior if he was going to be third on the depth chart, but at fifth, he’ll be an unnecessary luxury.

      generous definition of ’emergence’

It’s good that Walker isn’t banished to obscurity but he really wasn’t standing out through the spring either.

Thunder said elsewhere that he heard Issac was likely to be back.
