Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy OG Curtis Dunlap, Jr.

COMMITMENT

Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral offensive guard Emil Ekiyor, Jr. committed to Michigan (LINK).

DECOMMITMENT

Jacksonville (FL) Trinity fullback/linebacker Chase Lasater decommitted from Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017

Nashville (TN) Lipscomb defensive tackle Rutger Reitmaier, an Oregon commit, was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Nebraska, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #24 defensive tackle, and #360 overall. The U.S. Army All-American has been committed to the Ducks since June, but at 2-4 and with questions about head coach Mark Helfrich’s job, other teams are going to be poking around Oregon’s commits.

Hit the jump for a couple new 2018 offers, a couple 2019 offers, a few guys who committed elsewhere, and some random bits.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

Charlotte (NC) West Mecklenburg wide receiver Dyami Brown was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 athlete, and #190 overall.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy offensive guard Curtis Dunlap, Jr. was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 340 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #10 offensive guard, and #206 overall. He’s a huge kid who doesn’t move extremely well laterally, so he might end up at guard despite being 6’6″. Michigan has recruited IMG Academy heavily and held a week of spring practice there back in April. The center on Dunlap’s line, Cesar Ruiz, is expected by many to sign with Michigan.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Charlotte (NC) West Mecklenburg wide receiver Khafre Brown was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 165 lb. prospect who doubles as a track star. He’s the brother of 2018 wide receiver Dyami Brown (see above).

Charlotte (NC) Harding University running back Quavaris Crouch was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 210 lb. prospect with offers from Charlotte, South Carolina, and Wake Forest. He’s one of those players who’s head-and-shoulders above the competition, but as he grows over the next few years, he might turn into a linebacker or defensive end.

OFF THE BOARD

Mansfield (TX) Mansfield running back Kennedy Brooks committed to Oklahoma.

Shelby (NC) Crest linebacker Justin Foster committed to Clemson.

Wayne (NJ) Passaic offensive tackle Carter Warren committed to Pitt.

MISCELLANEOUS

Here’s a link to the message board, where there are lots of season updates for Michigan commits, reported top lists, etc. (LINK). I’m trying to make the message board more interactive and useful, so check it out and please participate. Hopefully, that will encourage others to do the same.

I don’t normally report on visitors to away games, but there were a couple noteworthy names at Michigan’s blowout win over Rutgers last Saturday. One was Brooklyn (NY) Poly offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson, an elite recruit with Michigan in or near the lead, and then 2018 tight end Jeremy Ruckert. Wilson . . . probably wasn’t there to see Rutgers.

Watching Rutger Reitmaier’s junior and mid-season senior films and his burst really stands out. Would love to see him flip to UM.
