COMMITMENT

Fairfield (OH) Fairfield tight end Erick All committed to Michigan (LINK).

Westlake Village (CA) Oaks Christian running back Zach Charbonnet committed to Michigan (LINK).

Kentwood (MI) East Kentwood defensive tackle Mazi Smith committed to Michigan (LINK).

Columbus (OH) St. Francis DeSales linebacker Joey Velazquez committed to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Oakland (CA) Freedom running back Giles Jackson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’8″, 175 lb. prospect with offers from Oregon, UCLA, and USC, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #8 all-purpose back, and #727 overall. He claims a 4.53 forty, a 4.01 shuttle, a 35″ vertical, and a 265 lb. bench press. He took an official visit to Michigan this past weekend, just a couple days after being offered by the Wolverines.

Dunlap (IL) Dunlap tight end Josiah Miamen was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 225-pounder with offers from Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #64 weakside end, and #912 overall, though the Wolverines are looking at him as a tight end. He earned his offer at Michigan’s camp a week ago, and then he took an unofficial visit this past weekend. Steve Wiltfong subsequently put in a crystal ball pick for Michigan.

Mazi Smith, Wolverine

Kentwood (MI) East Kentwood defensive tackle Mazi Smith committed to Michigan on Sunday evening. He chose the Wolverines over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, and Wisconsin, among others.

Smith is 6’3″, 290 lbs. He claims a 5.2 forty, a 26″ vertical, and a 315 lb. bench press.

Zach Charbonnet, Wolverine

Westlake Village (CA) Oaks Christian running back Zach Charbonnet committed to Michigan on Sunday evening. He chose the Wolverines over offers from Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, UCLA, and USC, among others.

Charbonnet is listed at 6’2″, 215 lbs. As a junior in 2017, he ran the ball 265 times for 2,049 yards (7.7 YPC) and 23 touchdowns. He also had 27 catches for 169 yards (6.3 yards/catch), 36 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 1 interception, and 4 pass breakups.

Joey Velazquez, Wolverine

Columbus (OH) St. Francis DeSales linebacker/safety Joey Velazquez committed to Michigan on Friday morning. He had previously been committed to Ohio State to play baseball only. He picked the Wolverines over Cincinnati and Indiana, among others, and he plans to continue his baseball career in Ann Arbor as well.

Velazquez is listed at 6’0″, 205 lbs. As a baseball player, Velazquez has been timed at 6.84 in the 60, and his throwing velocity has been measured at 85 miles per hour as a left-handed outfielder. His measureables are even more impressive when translated to football, where he has a 4.54 forty, a 390 lb. bench press, a 570 lb. squat, and a 600 lb. deadlift. He ran for 356 yards and 7 touchdowns on offense as a junior, and he made 50 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 4 pass breakups on defense.
