Former Michigan Athlete of the Week: Ryan Glasgow

It’s tough to make a name for yourself at nose tackle, but Ryan Glasgow heard his name mentioned several times on Sunday. The Cincinnati Bengals nose man had 5 tackles in a 29-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Dallas Cowboys DT Richard Ash had 1 pass breakup in a 40-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers
  • New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 21/29 passes for 249 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 23-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons
  • Dallas Cowboys DE Taco Charlton had 1 tackle and 1 pass breakup in the 40-10 win over the 49ers
  • Seattle Seahawks WR Amara Darboh had 2 catches for 29 yards in a 24-7 win over the New York Giants
  • Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess caught 4 passes for 41 yards in a 17-3 loss to the Chicago Bears
  • Philadelphia Eagles DE Brandon Graham had 1 tackle and 1 pass breakup in a 34-24 win over the Washington Redskins

  • Baltimore Ravens DE Chris Wormley started and made 1 tackle in a 24-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings

Former Michigan Athlete of the Week: Willie Henry

Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Willie Henry had yet to play an NFL game until two weeks ago, and this past Sunday, he earned his first start. He recorded 3 tackles and 0.5 sacks, but the Ravens lost to the Chicago Bears, 27-24.

HONORABLE MENTION

  • New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was 20/38 for 257 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception in a 24-17 win over the New York Jets.
  • Kansas City Chiefs WR Jehu Chesson did not catch a pass, but after a safety, the Chiefs took a free kick. The Steelers let it bounce on the ground, and Chesson recovered it for . . . an onside free kick recovery. The Chiefs lost, 19-13.
  • Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess caught 3 passes for 36 yards in a 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
  • Eagles DE Brandon Graham made 3 tackles and 0.5 sacks in the 28-23 win over the Panthers.
  • Cleveland Browns S Jabrill Peppers made 5 tackles and 6 punt returns for 43 yards in a 33-17 loss to the Houston Texans.
  • Green Bay Packers LB Jake Ryan made 8 tackles in a 23-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Baltimore Ravens DT Chris Wormley made 2 tackles in the 27-24 loss to the Bears. So for the Ravens, two of their starting defensive linemen were former Wolverines.

Former Michigan Athlete of the Week: Devin Funchess

For the second week in a row, Devin Funchess caught 7 passes. This time it came against the Detroit Lions in a 27-24 win for the Carolina Panthers. Funchess’s final stats were 7 catches for 54 yards and 1 touchdown.

HONORABLE MENTION

  • New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 30/40 passes for 303 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in a 19-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Seattle Seahawks DE Frank Clark made 3 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble in a 16-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams
  • Rams S Blake Countess made 2 tackles in a 16-10 loss to the Seahawks
  • Philadelphia Eagles DE Brandon Graham made 4 tackles and 1 sack in a 31-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals
  • Baltimore Ravens DT Willie Henry made 5 tackles and 2 pass breakups in a 30-17 win over the Oakland Raiders. He has now broken up 4 passes in his last two games.
  • Dallas Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis made 5 tackles and 3 pass breakups in a 35-31 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately, he was also the victim of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams on the game-winning fade pass.
  • Cleveland Browns S Jabrill Peppers made 3 tackles and 3 punt returns for 28 yards in a 17-14 loss to the New York Jets
  • Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls carried 8 times for 20 yards in a 16-10 win over the Rams
  • Green Bay Packers LB Jake Ryan made 7 tackles in a 35-31 win over the Cowboys
  • Baltimore Ravens DT Chris Wormley made his NFL debut and made 1 tackle in a 30-17 win over the Raiders
