2015 Under Armour All-American Game Rosters

Saginaw (MI) Heritage wide receiver Brian Cole will be Michigan’s only commit in the UA All-American Game

ESPN chose the teams for the 2015 Under Armour All-American Game (LINK). It will be played on January 2, 2015, in St. Petersburg, FL and aired on ESPN at 4:00 p.m. Included in the game will be one current Michigan commit,  four guys who decommitted from Michigan, and a lot of Michigan offerees.

Recruiting Update: September 9, 2014

Savannah (GA) Christian wide receiver Demetris Robertson

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2016
Savannah (GA) Christian wide receiver Demetris Robertson was offered by Michigan. Robertson is a 6’1″, 165 lb. prospect who committed to Alabama in July; he also holds offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Ohio State, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #1 athlete, and #23 overall. Robertson could play wide receiver or corner at the next level, and he has dynamic speed.

OFF THE BOARD
Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell, Jr. committed to Florida State. Campbell was a teammate of Michigan freshman lineman Mason Cole and was at one time committed to Michigan himself, but that affinity wore off. Campbell is rated as a wideout, but his hands have been questioned and he could end up at safety or linebacker. At 6’3″, 184 lbs. with a 4.36 forty, there are numerous options.

Bellevue (WA) Bellevue offensive tackle Henry Roberts committed to Washington. Roberts attends the alma mater of former Michigan lineman Steve Schilling. He expressed interest in visiting Michigan, but plans never materialized.

Recruiting Update: December 25, 2013

Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell, Jr. may not be donning those gloves again.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2014
Chicago (IL) Simeon offensive tackle Denzel Ward decommitted from Purdue. Ward was committed to Michigan at one point, moved to Florida without telling the coaches, decommitted from the Wolverines, then committed to Purdue, and is now a free agent again considering Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Florida, and Syracuse. I would hate to wait on him at a restaurant.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2015
Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell, Jr. decommitted from Michigan. Campbell had been committed to the Wolverines since this summer, but he supposedly has some family members asking him to reconsider and stay closer to home. Campbell has a wide receiver teammate headed to Clemson, a quarterback teammate headed to South Florida, and an offensive lineman (Mason Cole) headed to Michigan. Cole will enroll at Michigan in January and may become less of a presence for Campbell, which is probably not a good sign for the Wolverines. The vibe from recruiting experts is that while Michigan will continue to pursue him and remain an option, things are not looking good for him to come to Ann Arbor. Clemson and Florida seem to loom large, and with Florida’s terrible offense this year, I’m looking more at Clemson and their explosive offense as a likely destination.

OFF THE BOARD
La Mirada (CA) La Mirada tight end Tyler Luatua committed to Notre Dame. Luatua was vaguely interested in Michigan early in the process, but the decision reportedly came down to the Fighting Irish or the Alabama Crimson Tide. Luatua is the teammate of 2015 quarterback Kevin Dillman, who has been in contact with Michigan and may be an offer candidate down the road.

Monroeville (PA) Gateway safety Montae Nicholson committed to Michigan State. Nicholson was strongly considering Michigan at one point, but the Wolverines told him a couple months ago that they were no longer recruiting players at his position. Gateway seems to send a lot of players to Ohio State or Pitt, so the Spartans got their foot in the door of a pretty good talent pipeline. I was high on Nicholson as a strong safety type, so it will be interesting to see how he develops in East Lansing.

Bolingbrook (IL) Bolingbrook cornerback Parrker Westphal committed to Northwestern. Westphal was at one time considered a heavy Michigan lean, and various recruiting gurus thought he would be the next guy to commit to Michigan . . . but he never did. He seemed to cool on Michigan a little bit, and the reverse also seemed to be true. It was virtually the same situation as Grand Rapids (MI) Christian center Tommy Doles, although Westphal’s recruitment dragged out longer than Doles’s.

Rivals released its top 100 players for the class of 2015. Michigan currently has two of the top seven players committed for the class.

November 15, 2013: East Lake beat Palmetto (FL) Palmetto by a score of 13-12. Campbell had 5 catches for 86 yards and 1 carry for 10 yards. East Lake is now 11-0.

November 8, 2013: East Lake beat St. Petersburg (FL) St. Petersburg by a score of 54-0. Campbell had 2 catches for 61 yards. East Lake is now 10-0 at the end of the regular season.

November 1, 2013: East Lake beat St. Petersburg (FL) Northeast by a score of 49-6. East Lake is now 9-0.

October 25, 2013: East Lake beat Largo (FL) Pinellas Park by a score of 42-12. Campbell had a 31-yard reception and a forced fumble. East Lake is now 8-0.

September 27, 2013: East Lake beat Tarpon Springs (FL) Tarpon Springs by a score of 49-6. Campbell had 6 catches for 123 yards and 1 touchdown. East Lake is now 5-0.

September 20, 2013: East Lake beat Clearwater (FL) Clearwater by a score of 61-16. Campbell had 1 reception for a 61-yard touchdown. East Lake is now 4-0.

September 12, 2013: East Lake beat Dunedin (FL) Dunedin by a score of 48-0. Campbell had 3 receptions for 75 yards and 1 touchdown; he also had 3 tackles and 2 sacks on defense. He now has 5 receptions for 157 yards and 1 touchdown, along with at least 9 tackles and 3 sacks on defense. Cole had 5 pancake blocks and 1 pass breakup. East Lake is now 3-0.
