Recruiting Update: November 15, 2018

It’s been a while since I posted a recruiting update, so here are some updates from October and the first half of November.

COMMITMENTS

Tulsa (OK) Booker T. Washington safety Daxton Hill committed to Michigan (LINK).

Everett (MA) Everett wide receiver/cornerback Mike Sainristil committed to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Douglasville (GA) Douglas County center Parker Ball was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 275 lb. prospect with no other offers from FBS programs.

Cleveland (OH) St. Ignatius linebacker Tommy Eichenberg was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 225 lb. prospect who committed to Boston College back in June. He’s a 4-star, the #19 inside linebacker, and #358 overall. He visited Michigan for the Penn State game a few weekends ago. He’s the brother of Notre Dame offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg.

Dacula (GA) Dacula cornerback Jalen Perry decommitted from Georgia. He’s a 6’1″, 188-pounder whose crystal ball picks are currently 100% for South Carolina, but he took an unofficial visit to Michigan a few weeks ago and will visit officially this weekend. He’s a 4-star, the #19 cornerback, and #172 overall.

Alex Bales – K – Westfield (IN) Westfield: Bales is a 6’0″, 168 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Lewis Cine – S – Cedar Hill (TX) Trinity: Cine is a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, and Texas, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #3 safety, and #50 overall. Right now his crystal balls are 52% in favor of Penn State with the other 48% going to Georgia. When Michigan began recruiting him, he was in the northeast (Massachusetts) where defensive coordinator Don Brown has a lot of connections. He took his official visit to Michigan in June. UPDATE: Cine was unable to visit due to transportation issues.

Mica Gelb – OT – Washington (DC) Woodrow Wilson: Gelb is a 6’6″, 285 lb. prospect

Jalen McGaughy – LB – Detroit (MI) King: McGaughy is a 6’3″, 195 lb. prospect who is committed to Northern Illinois. He also has offers from Minnesota and Missouri, along with a few other MAC schools. He’s a 3-star, the #158 wide receiver, and #1338 overall.

Gabe Newburg – DE – Clayton (OH) Northmont: Newburg is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Kortez Toles – CB – Grand Blanc (MI) Grand Blanc: Toles is a 6’3″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Bowling Green and Central Michigan. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #149 cornerback, and #1434 overall.

Joey Velazquez – LB – Columbus (OH) St. Francis DeSales: Velazquez is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Tyrece Woods – DE – Belleville (MI) Belleville: Woods is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Erick All – TE – Fairfield (OH) Fairfield: All is a 6’4″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #22 tight end, and #504 overall.

Karsen Barnhart – OT – Paw Paw (MI) Paw Paw: Barnhart is committed to Michigan (LINK). This is an unofficial visit.

Zach Carpenter – OG – Cincinnati (OH) Moeller: Carpenter is committed to Michigan (LINK). This is an unofficial visit.

Zach Charbonnet – RB – Westlake Village (CA) Oaks Christian: Charbonnet is a 6’2″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, UCLA, and USC, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #15 running back, and #306 overall. He also visited in mid-March, and this is his official visit.

Lewis Cine – S – Cedar Hill (TX) Trinity: Cine is a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from virtually every big-time program in the country, including Michigan. He’s a 4-star, the #3 safety, and #43 overall. He transferred from Massachusetts to Texas after his junior season. Penn State has 100% of the crystal ball picks. This is his official visit to Ann Arbor.

It’s time for some visits and camps, and sometimes it’s hard to determine who’s camping and who’s just visiting campus. In one capacity or another, the following players are expected to be at the University of Michigan in the coming days.

2019

Erick All – TE – Fairfield (OH) Fairfield: All is a 6’4″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #29 tight end, and #694 overall. This is an unofficial visit.

Lewis Cine – S – Cedar Hill (TX) Trinity: Cine is a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from virtually every big-time program in the country, including Michigan. He’s a 4-star, the #3 safety, and #43 overall. He transferred from Massachusetts to Texas after his junior season. Penn State has 100% of the crystal ball picks. This is his official visit to Ann Arbor.

Quavaris Crouch – RB – Charlotte (NC) Harding University: Crouch is a 6’2″, 238 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, and everyone else of note. He’s a 5-star, the #1 athlete, and #14 overall. As a junior in 2017, he ran for 3,142 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Demontae Crumes – WR – Louisville (KY) Trinity: Crumes is a 6’1″, 165-pounder with offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, and Michigan. He’s a 3-star, the #79 wide receiver, and #610 overall. He’ll be camping at Michigan on June 18.

Recruiting Update: March 12, 2018

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Macedonia (OH) Nordonia cornerback Nyles Beverly was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 180 lb. prospect with offers from a bunch of MAC schools. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #116 cornerback, and #1275 overall. He runs a 4.53 forty.

Houston (TX) St. Pius X quarterback Grant Gunnell decommitted from Texas A&M. At 6’6″ and 212 lbs., he’s a 4-star, the #2 pro-style guy, and #53 overall. Oklahoma State is in sole possession of the lead when it comes to Crystal Ball picks with 40% of them right now. Michigan offered him last year, but he has not shown much interest in the Wolverines.

Reno (NV) Damonte Ranch quarterback Cade McNamara decommitted from Notre Dame. He’s a 6’1″, 187-pounder with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and USC, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #8 pro-style quarterback, and #269 overall. Over the past two seasons, he has thrown for over 7,000 yards, 90 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions.
