If I Had My Druthers . . . 2020 Transfers

Jovan Swann (#51, image via Rivals)

Michigan is rumored to have some interest in various potential transfers. I will address some of those rumored players here. I cannot claim to have watched all of these players play – especially in college – but I will do my best to evaluate how they would fit on Michigan’s roster.

NOTE: I am only looking at players that Michigan has been tied to in one way or another, because otherwise, obviously this would be way too overwhelming.

2018 Recruiting Update: The Dump

Leesburg (GA) Lee County LB Otis Reese

A couple days ago, I was hit with the annual $1,300 bill for web hosting from Flywheel. It reminded me how few site issues I’ve had since changing to Flywheel. Anyway, if you are capable and so inclined, please consider using the Paypal button on the sidebar to donate a few dollars to keep the site running. As always, you can also click on the Amazon links and buy something within 24 hours, and TTB will get a percentage. I appreciate all the support you can give. Thanks!

COMMITMENTS

Rochester (MI) Adams cornerback Vincent Gray committed to Michigan (LINK).

Northville (MI) Northville kicker Jake Moody committed to Michigan as a grayshirt.

DECOMMITMENTS

Washington (DC) St. John’s quarterback Kevin Doyle decommitted from Michigan (LINK).

Leesburg (GA) Lee County linebacker Otis Reese flipped from Michigan to Georgia. He’s a 4-star, the #5 outside linebacker, and #87 overall. Michigan’s coaching staff found out that he was flipping when he announced on the morning of National Signing Day, which is a . . . uhhh . . . less than ideal behavior from someone who has been committed to you for 1.5 years. Michigan’s coaches took heat for yanking offers late in the process previously (see: Erik Swenson), but at least those players had a chance to make other plans. If you wait until the last day to decide, somebody’s getting screwed.

Hit the jump for all the guys who committed elsewhere, along with some random bits.

2017 BBQ at the Big House Visitors

Myles Sims (image via Twitter)

Michigan will be hosting numerous football prospects on July 29, 2017, for the BBQ at the Big House. Last year there were travel issues for many prospects, who were unable to visit in August after their high school teams’ practices started. This year the BBQ is a week earlier, which should make for fewer conflicts. Here’s an early look at several players who plan to attend:

2018

Bryan Addison – S – Gardena (CA) Junipero Serra: Addison is a 6’4″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #4 athlete, and #146 overall. Michigan does not have any Crystal Ball picks right now, with USC leading the way at 50%.

Eyabi Anoma – DE – Baltimore (MD) St. Frances: Anoma is a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #3 weakside end, and #54 overall.

Jerome Carvin – OT – Cordova (TN) Cordova: Carvin is a 6’4″, 325 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #30 offensive tackle, and #368 overall.

Hit the jump for more 2018 and 2019 recruits who plan to attend the BBQ.

Recruiting Update: April 26, 2016

Kolin Demens 885x

Detroit (MI) Country Day LB Kolin Demens

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018
Detroit (MI) Country Day linebacker Kolin Demens was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 205 lb. prospect with only one other offer, which is from Nebraska. The younger brother of former Michigan middle linebacker, Kolin is a lankier outside linebacker type of player.

Tampa (FL) Cambridge Christian offensive tackle Richard Gouraige was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and North Carolina, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #5 offensive tackle, and #31 overall. Gouraige has some tantalizing athleticism and could play defensive end or defensive tackle, but he also looks like an ideal left tackle prospect. He was a Maxpreps Freshman All-American.
