COMMITMENT

Memphis (TN) Lausanne running back Eric Gray committed to Michigan (LINK).

Stuart (FL) Martin wide receiver George Johnson III committed to Michigan (LINK).

OFF THE BOARD

Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas safety Jordan Battle committed to Ohio State.

Pickerington (OH) Central defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, Jr. committed to Duke. This is the same school that sent Taco Charlton to Michigan, but I don’t think the Wolverines were pursuing him very hard.

Hit the jump for several more updates.

Karsen Barnhart – OT – Paw Paw (MI) Paw Paw: Barnhart is committed to Michigan (LINK). This is an unofficial visit.

Zach Carpenter – OG – Cincinnati (OH) Moeller: Carpenter is committed to Michigan (LINK). This is an unofficial visit.

Zach Charbonnet – RB – Westlake Village (CA) Oaks Christian: Charbonnet is a 6’2″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, UCLA, and USC, among others. Recruiting Update: May 28, 2018

Jahfari Harvey (image via Hudl)

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Dayton (OH) Dunbar offensive tackle Jon Allen was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 315 lb. prospect with offers from Louisville, Ohio State, and West Virginia, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #43 offensive tackle, and #466 overall. Ohio State holds all seven crystal ball picks, so he may not be worth evening paying attention.

Fort Pierce (FL) Vero Beach defensive end Jahfari Harvey was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 215-pounder with offers from Georgia, Miami, and Oregon, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #34 weakside end, and #486 overall. His recruitment has taken off lately, so he might be waiting to see if some of the other big-time programs offer, especially ones in Florida. The favorite right now is probably Miami.

Stuart (FL) Martin wide receiver George Johnson III was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oregon, and USF, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #18 dual-threat quarterback, and #929 overall. While he plays quarterback in high school, he will probably have to convert to receiver at bigger programs such as Michigan. Right now he’s strongly considering playing quarterback at schools where he could be that dual-threat QB, like Georgia Tech.

Hit the jump for several guys who went off the board to other schools.

He’s a 3-star, the #20 pro-style quarterback, and #670 overall. He’s a teammate of Spencer Brown (see above). Many thought he would commit to Michigan after the offer, but Cade McNamara may have beaten him to the punch and stolen his spot. Regardless, 61% of the Crystal Ball picks are in favor of Michigan at this point.

George Karlaftis – DE – West Lafayette (IN) West Lafayette: Karlaftis is a 6’5″, 260 lb. Purdue legacy who committed to the Boilermakers in October of 2017; he also has offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. Brandon Smith – LB – Mineral (VA) Louisa: Smith is a 6’5″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Virginia Tech, among others. He’s a 5-star, the #1 inside linebacker, and #19 overall. Some people have pegged him for defensive end, but he says he wants to play a linebacker, and Michigan is recruiting him as a linebacker. He’ll be visiting on April 3.

Dylan Wright – WR – Mesquite (TX) West: Wright is a 6’3″, 192-pounder with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #31 wide receiver, and #185 overall.

Hit the jump for several 2020 visitors.
