Tampa (FL) Berkeley Prep tight end Jacob Mathis

Quayshon Alexander – DE – Wayne (NJ) De Paul: Alexander is a 6’3″, 230 lb. prospect who committed to Nebraska in June; he also has offers from Arizona State, Iowa, Miami, Michigan, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #31 weakside end, and #447 overall. He is a teammate of running back Kareem Walker (Ohio State) and offensive guard Thiyo Lukusa (Michigan State), the latter of whom transferred there this year after playing at Traverse City (MI) West. This is an official visit.

Devin Bush, Jr. – LB – Pembroke Pines (FL) Flanagan:

Brad Hawkins, Jr. – WR – Camden (NJ) Camden: Hawkins committed to Michigan this summer. You can check up on how his senior season is going here (LINK). This is an unofficial visit.

Lavert Hill – CB – Detroit (MI) King:

Ron Johnson, Jr. – DE – Camden (NJ) Camden: Johnson committed to Michigan over the summer. You can check up on his senior season here (LINK).

Jacob Mathis – TE – Tampa (FL) Berkeley Prep: Mathis is a 6’3″, 223 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Miami, Michigan, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #9 tight end, and #276 overall. With Philadelphia (PA) Imhotep’s Naseir Upshur committing to Florida State and Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy’s Isaac Nauta looking like a Georgia lean, Mathis is emerging as perhaps Michigan’s top target at the tight end position. Florida appears to be the biggest contender for his services. This is his official visit.

Christian Boyd – DT – Muskegon (MI) Mona Shores: Boyd is a 6’2″, 260 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He is teammates with a pretty nice crew of 2016 athletes in wide receiver Kobe Burse (Miami-OH), cornerback Darece Roberson (Western Michigan), and wide receiver Hunter Broersma (Western Michigan).

Keyshon Camp – DT – Lakeland (FL) Lake Gibson: Camp is a 6’3″, 269 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, and UCLA, among others; he committed to USC in June. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #20 defensive tackle, and #174 overall. A former teammate of Michigan freshman Reuben Jones, he is also coached by former Michigan offensive lineman Ricky Barnum. This is his official visit.

Donnie Corley – WR – Detroit (MI) King:

Caleb Kelly – LB – Fresno (CA) Clovis West: Kelly is a 247 Composite 5-star, the #2 outside linebacker, and #16 overall. He has offers from Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, and USC, among others. He visited Michigan this spring and the coaching staff has been after him hard, but his leader is thought to be Oklahoma. He is committed to the 2016 U.S. All-American Bowl. This is his official visit.

Norcross (GA) Greater Atlanta Christian quarterback Davis Mills

The Wolverines will be hosting a bunch of visitors for the home opener against Oregon State this weekend. This list will increase significantly before Saturday, but here are the names I have so far.

2016

Jonathan Brys – DE – Jackson (MI) Lumen Christi:

Landon Dickerson – OG  – Hickory (NC) Hickory: Dickerson is a 6’5″, 293 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and Virginia Tech, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #10 offensive tackle, and #71 overall. He is one of the few offensive linemen that Michigan has continued to recruit now that several linemen are committed, but he seems likely to end up elsewhere, with Virginia Tech being a strong possibility. UPDATE: Michigan asked Dickerson to reschedule his visit for after the season, but it is unlikely to get rescheduled.

Michigan is “in a submarine” during fall camp, but they are occasionally allowing outsiders in to watch the boring practices or parts of practice. Here are some players who are headed to Michigan this weekend to watch some practices:

Euless (TX) Trinity DT Chris Daniels

Chris Daniels – DT – Euless (TX) Trinity: Daniels is a 6’3″, 299 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Baylor, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #15 defensive tackle, and #149 overall. Daniels grew up in Muskegon, MI, and his childhood favorite school was Michigan. He visited Michigan earlier in the week. Michigan seems to be recruiting only a couple defensive tackles, including Rashan Gary, but Daniels is a guy they have kept in touch with throughout.
