Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy offensive lineman Robert Hainsey

Here’s an early list of visitors for the 2016 spring game, which will take place on April 1. There will be lots of additions (and probably some subtractions), and I expect a good number of local recruits to visit Michigan Stadium for the event. However, local recruits are less vocal about these types of things, because they can hop in a car and drive an hour or two to the stadium, whereas players from far away have to make travel plans ahead of time. It’s shaping up to be a pretty good group so far.

2017
Ellis Brooks – LB – Richmond (VA) Benedictine: Brooks is a 6’2″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Duke, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Virginia Tech, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #25 outside linebacker, and #292 overall. As a junior in 2015, he made 117 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks. He is expected to stay in ACC country to play ball, but shortly after being offered by the Wolverines, he said he would visit for the spring game. That indicates he does have some serious interest in Michigan.

D’Antne Demery – OT – Brunswick (GA) Brunswick: Demery is a 6’6″, 308 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #24 offensive tackle, and #158 overall. Georgia is the heavy favorite, but Michigan is trying to make headway in the Peach State.

Neil Farrell – DT – Mobile (AL) Murphy: Farrell is a 6’4″, 295 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, LSU, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #32 defensive tackle, and #499 overall. He has not named any favorites, and Michigan has made a pretty strong foray into Alabama since Jim Harbaugh arrived.

Hit the jump for several more visitors.

Robert Hainsey – OT – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Hainsey is a 6’4″, 276 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #3 offensive guard, and #104 overall. Though he’s rated as an offensive guard, I think he has the feet to play left tackle. A transfer from Monroeville (PA) Monroeville, Steve Lorenz of 247 Sports thinks Hainsey will end up playing ball closer to his home state of Pennsylvania.

Ja’Raymond Hall – OT – Oak Park (MI) Oak Park: Hall is a 6’5″, 282 lb. prospect who committed to Michigan in December of 2015 (LINK). He’s currently a 247 Composite 4-star, the #29 offensive tackle, and #228 overall.

Elvis Hines, Jr. – CB – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Hines is a 5’10”, 162 lb. prospect with offers from Old Dominion and Temple. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #56 cornerback, and #563 overall. Hines does not have an offer from Michigan, and with the Wolverines in on a lot of elite prospects, I doubt that one will be coming soon. Originally from Haddonfield (NJ) Paul VI, Hines is ow a teammate of Hainsey’s and several other Michigan targets.

Deommodore Lenoir – CB – Los Angeles (CA) Salesian: Lenoir is a 5’10”, 182 lb. prospect with offers from Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Washington, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #8 cornerback, and #72 overall. He is considered to be one of Michigan’s top few targets at the cornerback position, and the Wolverines are in his top 5-7 schools.

Scott Nelson – S – Detroit (MI) U of D Jesuit: Nelson is a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #44 safety, and #595 overall. He’s considered to be a Michigan State lean.

Phillip Paea – DT – Berrien Springs (MI) Berrien Springs: Paea is a 6’4″, 285 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #30 defensive tackle, and #476 overall. He was a little-known prospect with a lone offer from BYU until a few weeks ago, when his recruitment seemed to blow up.

Cesar Ruiz – C – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Ruiz is a 6’3″, 315 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #1 center, and #168 overall. Ruiz starter his high school career at Camden (NJ) Camden, so he’s a former teammate of 2016 Michigan signees Brad Hawkins and Ron Johnson. He has visited Michigan previously, and the Wolverines are the presumed leaders.

Collin Smith – S – Ligonier (PA) Valley: Smith is a 6’0″, 196 lb. prospect with offers from Louisville, Michigan, and West Virginia, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #92 athlete, and #1110 overall. Smith is a high school quarterback who doubles as a hard-hitting safety. It’s hard to know how hard Michigan will pursue him going forward, but he seems to be a decent fit for the SAM linebacker position under new defensive coordinator Don Brown.

Major Tennison – TE – Bullard (TX) Bullard: Tennison is a 6’6″, 245 lb. prospect who committed to Texas in October of 2015; he also has offers from Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #16 tight end, and #489 overall. As a junior in 2015, he caught 24 passes for 541 yards and 7 touchdowns.

J’Marick Woods – S – Florence (AL) Florence: Woods is a 6’4″, 196 lb. prospect with offers from Duke, Florida, Michigan, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #26 safety, and #337 overall. Michigan was the first offer for Woods when the Wolverines were also recruiting his 2016 teammate, linebacker Erroll Thompson. Woods visited Michigan last year, so he is already somewhat familiar with the campus and coaching staff.

2018
Jayson Ademilola – DE – Jersey City (NJ) St. Peter’s Prep:
Ademilola is a 6’3″, 260 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #11 athlete, and #96 overall. Michigan offered him and his twin brother (see below) early in the process, and they have held the Wolverines in high regard since. They visited for the BBQ at the Big House in August of 2015.

Justin Ademilola – LB – Jersey City (NJ) St. Peter’s Prep: This Ademilola is a 6’3″, 225 lb. outside linebacker with offers from Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, and Rutgers, among others. He is currently unranked.

Dorian Hardy – DE – Montvale (NJ) St. Joseph: Hardy is a 6’5″, 245 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, among others. He was offered by the Wolverines back in December of 2015.

Antwuan Johnson – LB – Springfield (OH) Springfield: Johnson is a 6’1″, 210 lb. prospect with offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, and others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #3 inside linebacker, and #82 overall. He seems to be waiting for an Ohio State offer, which has not come yet; in the meantime, he named Michigan his #1 school. He’s a classmate of TE Leonard Taylor .

2019
Tyrece Woods – LB – Detroit (MI) King: Woods is a 6’2″, 200 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He has been a frequent visitor to campus over the last year, and his actions suggest he would be heavily interested in a Michigan offer if it were to come.
