I saw your best since 69 to build a team RB post (Magnus, MGOBlog) and can’t help but admit that personal favorites are just that personal.

Mine are: Wheatley (power, speed), Woolfolk ( I was in the stadium the day he broke the all time record for run from scrimmage). Lytle and the A-Train (because the would sell out their body for the team), and Denard (I know he wasn’t listed) for pure electricity during an era when we badly needed something to chear about.

I dream of finding another Tony Boles, Biakabutuka, Perry or Hart. I wish I could have seen a few others avoid injury and run out their dreams.

It’s really difficult, in my opinion, to rank so many players over such a long period. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone better than Tyrone Wheatley during my time watching Michigan football. I did like Tony Boles, too, and he could fly, but he didn’t have the power of Wheatley.

It’s interesting to me how Russel Davis and the Hucklebee, among others go straight to Tony Boles when asked the question. I remember a short yardage play against … somebody … I can’t remember anymore where he beat a pair of guys who were pretty much standing in the hole waiting on him. He split them so quick they never really even got uncoiled. It was incredible.

Such a shame. Although stealing Emmett Smith’s car, while stupid, is about as funny as it gets.
