Just a reminder on the 2021 class as the 2020 class starts to come to a close: Michigan currently holds commitments from…

  • QB J.J. McCarthy
  • OT Giovanni El-Hadi

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2021

Kaden Prather – WR – Germantown (MD) Northwest: Prather is a 6’3″, 210-pounder with offers from Alabama, Maryland, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #49 wide receiver, and #301 overall. How are you the #49 wide receiver but still #301 overall? So roughly 1 out of 6 of the best players in the country play wide receiver? Hmmm… Anyway, Prather claims a 4.6 forty, a 4.56 shuttle, and a 29.7″ vertical.

Hit the jump for more.

Bastian Swinney – OT – Minneapolis (MN) Edina: Swinney is a 6’6″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Cal, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and TCU, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #56 offensive tackle, and #567 overall. I like Swinney as an interior line prospect, but I’m not sure if he’s an offensive tackle. He can bend well, but pass protection might be a question mark coming from a run-oriented attack.

J.T. Tuimoloau – DT – Sammamish (WA) Eastside Catholic: Tuimoloau is a 6’4″, 277-pounder with offers from Alabama, Ohio State, USC, and Washington, among others. He’s a 5-star, the #1 defensive tackle, and #4 overall.

Hudson Wolfe – TE – Savannah (TN) Hardin: Wolfe is a 6’6″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #6 tight end, and #220 overall. Wolfe is huge and talented, but he’s used as a flex guy in high school, and I think he will have to transition to more of an in-line tight end at the next level.

Sadly, I see “5 star DT” from Washington, and I think to myself, “No way Michigan gets that guy.”

There are very few highly ranked ‘true DTs’ and they tend to end up at a small handful of schools down south.

Aubrey Solomon not panning out was a big loss for Michigan.
