Jamaree Salyer 904x

Atlanta (GA) Pace OG Jamaree Salyer

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018
Marietta (GA) Lassiter cornerback Derrik Allen was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 206 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Notre Dame, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #2 cornerback, and #17 overall. He’s already committed to the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. For such a big corner – though he could end up at safety – Allen is surprisingly tentative coming up to tackle. He makes some acrobatic catches, though, and is physical in press man coverage.

Cypress (TX) Ranch offensive tackle Colten Blanton was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’7″, 271 lb. prospect with offers from Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #17 offensive tackle, and #112 overall. Blanton is very lanky at this point and almost looks like a tight end or defensive end, but he should fill out by the time he finishes high school and needs to get considerably stronger to hold up in college.

Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall offensive guard Barton Clement was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 304 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and TCU, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #4 offensive guard, and #70 overall. Physically, he’s very well developed at this point in his career, but he’s going to have to be an interior guy with his lack of height and length, unless he hits a growth spurt.

Hit the jump for several more 2018 offers.

Houston (TX) Westfield defensive tackle Keondre Coburn was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 326 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #11 defensive tackle, and #95 overall. Coburn is mostly a space-eater in the middle without a whole lot of burst.

Lamar (TX) Lamar cornerback Anthony Cook was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 168 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, and Oklahoma, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #6 cornerback, and #66 overall. As a sophomore in 2018, he made 6 interceptions and returned 3 of them for interceptions. He has quick feet and some good instincts for the position. He says he’s “not a party kind of guy” and likes “quieter environments”, so I think the UGLi would be a good place for him. However, he seemed very excited about his LSU offer.

Cedar Hill (TX) Cedar Hill defensive tackle Shabazz Dotson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 271 lb. prospect whose lone offer comes from the Wolverines. There’s not much film or information out there on Dotson.

Angleton (TX) Angleton safety B.J. Foster was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 188 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Houston, Texas, and Oklahoma, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #1 safety, and #8 overall. Foster’s a very accomplished running back (103 carries for 1,032 yards and 16 TDs as a sophomore) and receiver out of the backfield (11 catches, 220 yards, 2 TDs), but he’s a little too lanky and upright of a runner to stick on offense, in my opinion. That’s probably why he’s rated as the #1 safety, where he has nice ball skills and the ability to support the run.

Houston (TX) Reagan cornerback Jalen Green was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 168 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Florida, Houston, LSU, and Oklahoma, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #10 cornerback, and #101 overall. As a sophomore in 2015, he made 37 tackles, 18 PBUs, and 5 INTs. He’s a nice prospect, although he’s not on the same level athletically as Allen or Cook.

Atlanta (GA) Pace offensive guard Jamaree Salyer was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 327 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Notre Dame, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #1 offensive guard, and #13 overall. He’s a teammate of 2017 OT Andrew Thomas. If you want to watch a highlight reel of an offensive guard just flattening defenders without needing to exert much effort, here you go:

Harbor City (CA) Narbonne linebacker Raymond Scott was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 220 lb. prospect who committed to USC a month ago and also has an Oklahoma offer. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #2 outside linebacker, and #75 overall. Scott is a small-ish inside linebacker who would probably project to the WILL position at Michigan. He attends the same school as 2016 offensive tackle Alex Akingbulu (UCLA) and wide receiver Devaughn Cooper (Arizona).

St. George (UT) Desert Hills offensive tackle Penei Sewell was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 319 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, BYU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCLA, and Utah, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #8 offensive tackle, and #47 overall. His future position is a little uncertain because he has the body of a guard, but the athleticism to be a tackle. He’s still a couple years away from playing in college, so his body has time to mature one way or another.

West Palm Beach (FL) Oxbridge safety Cajuan “C.J.” Smith was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, LSU, Nebraska, and Tennessee, among others. He’s an intriguing prospect who’s a bit of a linebacker/safety tweener, a little bit reminiscent of Brandon Smith if you remember him from Michigan’s class of 2008.

Grand Prairie (TX) South safety Atanza Vongor was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 192 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Clemson, Georgia, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #22 safety, and #266 overall. He’s a speedy safety prospect who could probably play some corner, too.
