Last year: I did not rank Pearson. He played in three games and made 1 tackle.
Pearson is a walk-on safety who has made exactly one tackle in each of the past two seasons. He hasn’t done anything to show the potential of a Jordan Kovacs, but he has apparently earned the coaches’ trust to be a special teamer and capable backup. This spring he got a lot of playing time when Michigan was low on safeties, but three pretty solid players return (Dymonte Thomas, Delano Hill, Tyree Kinnel). Michigan is thin at the position, so Pearson might get some run, but he won’t be a key player except perhaps on special teams.
