Michael Barrett

The Detroit Free Press talks about the struggles of recruiting vs. Ohio State (LINK). I do take issue with a part of it, when it talks about the numbers of offers being sent out. It says Ohio State has offered 168, while Michigan has offered 295 (note: those numbers are low). But yeah, when you’re Ohio State with recent playoff appearances and a national championship, you don’t have to offer as many people to get your 25 or so kids per class.

Ted Nguyen breaks down three plays: one from Josh Gattis, one from Mike Leach, and one from Joe Moorhead (LINK).

Here’s a piece on new Patriots (and former Michigan) tight end Devin Asiasi (LINK).

Nightly Roundup: May 18, 2020

Rivals is reporting a pretty interesting tidbit from The Fort. Normally, I don’t post much from the insider boards, but this is pretty significant because we’re all starving for football. Some scuttlebutt on potential options for Notre Dame this fall (LINK):

  • Only fill stadium to 20% capacity
  • COVID-19 testing twice per week for players/staff
  • 1 and 2 positive tests will result in a quarantine
  • 3+ positive tests will result in a cancellation of the season

Class of 2021 quarterback commit J.J. McCarthy is transferring to IMG Academy for his senior season. Shea Patterson also finished his career at IMG.

Brady Hoke

Andre Seldon, Jr. and Giles Jackson both announced that they would be wearing #0, which is being allowed for the first time in college football this season. Since Seldon is a corner and Jackson is a receiver, they won’t be on the field at the same time . . . unless they both end up on special teams, which could cause an issue.

Nick Baumgardner has a good piece on Brady Hoke, who is now at SDSU (LINK).
