Micah Parsons (image via PennLive)

SITE NEWS: We hit 50 avatars yesterday, so congrats to user #9, OVOXO, on winning the $50 Amazon gift card. Keep uploading avatars if you haven’t done so already. There will be another drawing at #75.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

Harrisburg (PA) Harrisburg defensive end Micah Parsons decommitted from Penn State. He’s a 5-star, the #1 weakside end, and #3 overall in the 247 Composite. Normally this would seem like good news, except all the Crystal Ball picks coming in are for Ohio State.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Richmond (TX) Fort Bend Travis wide receiver Arjei Henderson decommitted from Oklahoma. Michigan offered him earlier this month. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #9 wide receiver, and #37 overall. The 6’1″, 179-pounder has also landed offers from Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame, and Tennessee recently.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Bowling Green (KY) South Warren defensive tackle Jacob Lacey was offered by Michigan when he visited campus last Thursday. He’s a 4-star, the #7 defensive tackle, and #124 overall to 247 Sports. Kentucky, Louisville, Penn State, and Tennessee have also offered the 6’2″, 300-pounder. He’s sawed off at 6’2″, so it will be interesting to see whether he grows a little bit or not.

Hit the jump for a few players who committed elsewhere, along with some random bits.

Scouting Report: 2018 Quarterbacks

Dorian Thompson-Robinson (image via USA Today)

Since quarterback is such an important position in the game of football, I like to take a hard look at whom Michigan is recruiting in each class. I actually started this post a couple weeks ago, but with all the film watching and such, it took me a while to complete it. When I evaluate quarterbacks for this piece, I think about how well they would fit in the offense that I expect Michigan to run. With that being said, there’s some uncertainty going forward with talk that Jim Harbaugh wants more athletic quarterbacks and an offense that employs more wide receivers than we have seen in the past. Harbaugh did have success with a more spread-oriented offense as the San Francisco 49ers head coach, so I tried to keep that in mind when putting together this list.

Below is an in-depth look at the eleven quarterbacks Michigan has offered in the 2018 class, in order of my preferenc:

1. Trevor Lawrence – QB – Cartersville (GA) Cartersville: Lawrence is a 6’6″, 196 lb. prospect who committed to Clemson in December of 2016. He’s also a U.S. Army All-American and the #1 overall player in the country. Lawrence is probably the most “college ready” quarterback on this list. A pro-style guy, he has the size, footwork, arm strength, and accuracy to be deserving of his ranking. The thing that probably sets him apart is his intelligence and pre-snap reads. Lawrence does a great job of identifying coverages and getting rid of the ball quickly when he has an opportunity. In that sense I think he has a little bit of Peyton Manning in him; he’s a very cerebral quarterback. Lawrence isn’t a great athlete and I’m sure the Clemson offense will look different with Lawrence than it did with Deshaun Watson, but he still should be able to command that offense well.

Hit the jump for the rest of the list.
