COMMITMENTS
Winchester (IN) Winchester running back Kiante Enis committed to Michigan (LINK).

Indianapolis (IN) Ben Davis slot receiver Chris Evans committed to Michigan (LINK).

Prattville (AL) Prattville linebacker Dytarious Johnson committed to Michigan (LINK).

Detroit (MI) Cass Tech offensive guard Michael Onwenu committed to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2016
Miramar (FL) Miramar defensive end Terrell Lucas was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Minnesota and Tulane. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #67 weakside end, and #1152 overall. Lucas was at the satellite camp in Tampa, and the coaches extended him an offer after evaluating him in person. His film is not particularly impressive, as he looks a little undersized and lacks the explosion I would expect in an undersized weakside end.

Dudley (MA) Shepherd Hill tight end Sean McKeon was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Syracuse, Temple, and UMass, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #64 tight end, and #1489 overall. He claims a 4.69 forty. His highlights show a long, lanky kid who looks a little awkward and gangly, but he shows some toughness and an ability to grind out extra yards after the catch.

Hit the jump for a couple more 2016 offers, a couple 2017 offers, a new 2018 offer, some guys who committed elsewhere, and lots of random bits.

Pembroke Pines (FL) Flanagan safety Josh Metellus was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 187 lb. prospect who is currently committed to Georgia Southern. He’s a 247 Composite 2-star, the #134 safety, and #1915 overall. He claims a 33″ vertical, a 245 lb. bench press, and a 325 lb. squat. Unless he has hit a growth spurt since his junior season, he’s probably an inch or two under his listed height and weight, but he is an aggressive hitter from the safety position and shows some nice ball skills, too. He was at the satellite camp held just outside of Miami, FL. He is another teammate of 2016 offerees Devin Bush, Jr. and Devin Gil.

Delray Beach (FL) Atlantic cornerback Antwaine Richardson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 165 lb. prospect with offers from Miami, Rutgers, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #86 cornerback, and #867 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 35 tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 10 pass breakups. Richardson is a lanky corner who needs to add weight, but he changes direction well and is pretty physical for being a skinny guy. He attends the same school as 2015 defensive end signee Shelton Johnson.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
Tampa (FL) Tampa Bay Tech wide receiver Daquon Green was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 183 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, and several others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #33 wide receiver, and #210 overall. Green was one of the stars of the show at the Tampa satellite camp. He’s a speedster who can take the top off of a defense and run after the catch.

Pembroke Pines (FL) Flanagan wide receiver Clevan Thomas, Jr. was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’10”, 185 lb. prospect whose lone other offer comes from Temple. Another teammate of Bush, Gil, and Metellus, Thomas earned his offer at the Miami satellite camp.  Thomas is the son of Clevan Thomas, a former Florida State cornerback (6 career interceptions) who went on to become a three-time Arena Football League Defensive Player of the Year and Hall of Famer (73 career interceptions, 11 kickoff return touchdowns). Flanagan is Thomas’s third school after playing at Miami Jackson and Miami Booker T. Washington.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018
Thomson (GA) Thomson cornerback Christian Tutt was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 171 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina, and Tennessee, among others. Tutt is obviously a young kid, and his highlights are not very lengthy, but he does show some ability as a kick returner.

OFF THE BOARD
Hallandale (FL) Hallandale wide receiver Joshua Hammond committed to Florida. Hammond’s older brother, Frankie Hammond Jr., played for the Gators and spent the last two seasons as a wide receiver with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Darien (IL) Hinsdale South defensive end Josh King committed to Michigan State. Prior to his commitment, he tweeted out that his choice would make people’s heads spin. He seemingly forgot to check his 247 Sports profile page, which had 79% of predictions in favor of . . . Michigan State. Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State were all tied for second place with 5% of the votes.

Fort Wayne (IN) Bishop Luers wide receiver Austin Mack committed to Ohio State. Michigan was his leader many moons ago, and he even visited again recently, but for a long time, he has been expected to be a Buckeye.

Fort Wayne (IN) Wayne defensive end Auston Robertson committed to Michigan State. Just like King and Mack, this had been expected for a long time. Robertson had also visited Michigan several times and recently put the Wolverines in his top three, replacing Ohio State, but any late addition to a top three means it’s a long shot.

MISCELLANEOUS
Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison defensive end Khalid Kareem has set an announcement date for June 24th. He took a visit to Michigan two weekends ago that reportedly had a big impact on him because of its focus on academics. Kareem was previously committed to Michigan State for a short time this spring, but new circumstances are pointing toward him choosing Michigan.

Saline (MI) Saline quarterback Joshua Jackson has set an announcement date for Thursday. Jackson does not hold an offer from the Wolverines, but he is the son of former running backs coach Fred Jackson and the brother of former wide receiver Jeremy Jackson. He has offers from Minnesota, Northwestern, Utah, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #14 dual-threat quarterback, and #411 overall. He is expected to be a Hokie by the end of the week.

I’m keeping a running tab on the coaching staff’s 2015 Summer Swarm Tour (LINK).

Here’s a list of the eight in-state 2017 prospects who visited Michigan last Tuesday (LINK).

Rivals updated their top 100 (LINK) and top 250 lists (LINK) for 2016.

Rivals also held their 5-star Challenge in Baltimore, where Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was the keynote speaker. Here’s a list of Michigan offerees who participated (LINK).

2016 Recruiting Update: May 11, 2015

Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Michael Irvin, Jr. (image via MaxPreps)

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2016
Harbor City (CA) Narbonne wide receiver Devaughn Cooper was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’10”, 171 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona and Washington, among others. As a junior in 2014, he caught 34 passes for 587 yards and 8 touchdowns. He claims a 4.61 forty. Cooper doesn’t have amazing physical skills, but he’s a nifty runner after the catch and isn’t afraid to catch the ball in traffic. He is a teammate of offensive tackle Alex Akingbulu, who also holds an offer from Michigan.

Tampa (FL) Catholic wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers decommitted from Auburn. He’s a 6’2″, 205 lb. prospect who’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #1 wide receiver, and #23 overall. He never really showed interest in his Michigan offer, and Ohio State has a slim chance, but it looks like Florida State will be the beneficiary of his parting ways with Auburn.

Winchester (IN) Community safety Kiante Enis was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, and Louisville, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #61 running back, and #792 overall. As a junior in 2014, he ran the ball 299 times for 3,189 yards and 49 touchdowns. He claims a 4.35 forty. Enis has good speed, although film should be taken with a grain of salt when he’s running past small-town Indiana kids for a high school that has roughly 500 kids. He’s the nephew of former Penn State running back Curtis Enis, who went on to be a first round pick of the Chicago Bears. Michigan appears to be looking at Enis as a safety, although he has some position flexibility to play running back or receiver at the next level.

Hit the jump for several more new offers, a few guys who committed elsewhere, and then some random bits.

Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Michael Irvin, Jr. was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 212 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia and Miami. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #94 wide receiver, and #619 overall. Much like his father – former University of Miami and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin – the younger Irvin is not known for his speed. Irvin, Jr. spent his junior season at Plano (TX) Prestonwood Christian, but he will be playing for St. Thomas Aquinas this fall, a Florida powerhouse. Michigan has unsuccessfully recruited several players from there before, although transfer quarterbacks Jake Rudock and John O’Korn are both alums. Regardless, Irvin is expected to follow in his footsteps and become a Hurricane.

Roswell (GA) Roswell linebacker Tre Lamar was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, and Notre Dame, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 inside linebacker, and #148 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 131 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 7 pass breakups. Lamar is a large kid with a thick lower body, and he will probably outgrow the position and become a defensive end at some point. His teammate, 2017 cornerback LeAnthony Williams, also picked up an offer from Michigan. Lamar is expected to end up at Clemson.

Brentwood (TN) Brentwood Academy offensive tackle Bryce Mathews was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 275 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #23 offensive tackle, and #227 overall. Mathews is the son of former Texas A&M and NFL tackle Jason Mathews.

Loganville (GA) Grayson defensive end Mykelle McDaniel was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 255 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, and Stanford, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #25 strongside end, and #479 overall. McDaniel is a big body with a pretty good motor, although he does not have outstanding athleticism. His teammate, 2019 running back/linebacker Owen Pappoe, was also offered by the Wolverines.

Greensboro (NC) Page wide receiver Diondre Overton was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 193 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #29 wide receiver, and #160 overall. Despite being a tall guy, Overton has very good short-area quickness and run-after-the-catch abilities. His leader appears to be Clemson, which is a good destination for receivers these days.

Jacksonville (NC) Southwest defensive end Jimmie Taylor was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #48 weakside end, and #760 overall. He looks like a kid who might outgrow the weakside end position into a strongside guy since he is solidly built, and he does not have a great speed rush.

Downey (CA) Downey athlete Daevon Vigilant was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’7″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Colorado, San Diego State, Utah, and Washington State, among others. He is currently unranked by the recruiting services. As a junior in 2014, he had almost 2,000 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards. It’s unclear which position Michigan wants him to play since he is rather small for a running back, but he could be a receiver, corner, or returner. One thing on Michigan’s end is clear – the Wolverines need more guys who can make plays with the ball in their hands. Teammate Darrian Franklin is a 2016 prospect who also holds a Michigan offer and likes the Wolverines.

OFF THE BOARD
Phenix City (AL) Central cornerback John Broussard committed to Auburn. He was expected to stay down south, and did not show much interest in his Michigan offer. He’s the #98 overall player in the country according to 247 Composite rankings.

Rancho Cucamonga (CA) Los Osos offensive tackle Cohl Cabral committed to Arizona State. This is a bit of a steal for the Sun Devils, since Cabral was expected to take USC up on their offer.

Plymouth (MI) Plymouth offensive tackle Michael Jordan committed to Ohio State. This was a bit of a surprise because Jordan was reportedly hoping to take his time with his recruitment. It was not so much of a surprise that he committed to Ohio State. Not only does he want to pursue a program that some other schools don’t offer, but despite growing up a Michigan fan, he always had an eye on Ohio State and was not as enthused about his Michigan offer as some in-state guys are. It’s a blow to Michigan, because he’s the #156 player overall and I had him as the #4 player in the state of Michigan (LINK).

MISCELLANEOUS
Norfolk (VA) Lake Taylor cornerback Wayne Davis named a top five that includes Michigan. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #30 cornerback, and #330 overall. However, he said Ohio State and Virginia Tech are tied for the lead, and he plans to make a visit this summer, so Michigan needs to get him on campus if they want a shot.

Evanston (IL) Evanston defensive tackle Naquan Jones also named a top five that includes Michigan. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #28 defensive tackle, and #323 overall. The other teams on that list are Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and South Carolina.

Darien (IL) Hinsdale South defensive end Josh King named a final five that includes Michigan. The big fish on this list of kids who named top lists, King is a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 strongside end, and #73 overall. The Wolverines are competing against Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, and USC.

I wrote up a scouting report on Paramus (NJ) Catholic defensive tackle Rashan Gary (LINK).

Here are a couple visitors from this past week (LINK).

TRANSFER
Blake O’Neill – P – Weber State:
Quarterback Jake Rudock from Iowa visited last weekend, and now it’s O’Neill’s turn. O’Neill is a graduate transfer prospect who’s a 6’2″, 215 lb. punter. He averaged 44.1 yards/attempt last season and does not allow many returns. Sam Webb pronounced a “gut feeling” that O’Neill would end up at Michigan, so this visit may be just a formality.

2016
Cary Angeline – TE – Exton (PA) Downington East: Angeline is a 6’7″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #9 tight end, and #213 overall. As a junior in 2014, he had 67 catches for 1,051 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Korey Banks – CB – Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek: Banks is a 6’0″, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas State, Colorado State, and Miami-OH, among others. He’s an unranked prospect at this point. He claims a 4.26 forty, and while that is almost surely a fib, he does have good speed.

Devin Bush, Jr. – LB – Hollywood (FL) Flanagan: Bush is a 6’0″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and UCLA, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #8 inside linebacker, and #249 overall. Bush is a Florida State legacy whose dad played safety for the Seminoles and is now Flanagan’s head coach.

Hit the jump for several more 2016 prospects, as well as some 2017 and 2018 kids.

Donnie Corley – WR – Detroit (MI) King: Corley is a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #20 wide receiver, and #110 overall. Corley has visited Michigan several times and has grown more interested in the Wolverines now that Jim Harbaugh is the coach.

Matt Falcon – RB – Southfield (MI) Southfield: Falcon is a 6’1″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #13 running back, and #234 overall. He has visited Michigan several times, but Tennessee is also very high on his list.

Desmond Fitzpatrick – WR – Farmington (MI) Farmington: Fitzpatrick is a 6’2″, 194 lb. prospect who committed to Louisville last October; he has since picked up an offer from Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #57 wide receiver, and #344 overall. Fitzpatrick has been a frequent visitor to Ann Arbor and is seen as a player who very well might flip to the Wolverines at some point, even though high school teammate David Reese (also a Louisville commit) is not being heavily recruited by Michigan.

Rashan Gary – DT – Paramus (NJ) Catholic: Gary is a 6’4″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #1 defensive tackle, and #1 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 55 tackles and 14 sacks. His former high school head coach is Chris Partridge, who is now employed by Michigan as a recruiting coordinator. He will also be visiting Ohio State on his swing through the midwest.

Joshua Hammond – WR – Hallandale (FL) Hallandale: Hammond is a 6’1″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #59 wide receiver, and #347 overall. As a junior in 2014, he caught 25 passes for 413 yards and 6 touchdowns. He will also be visiting Notre Dame on his swing through the midwest.

Brad Hawkins – WR – Camden (MI) Camden: Hawkins is a 6’2″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pitt, Rutgers, and South Carolina, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #33 wide receiver, and #161 overall. Currently he appears to be favoring the Gamecocks, but he does not look to be in a hurry to make a decision, so Michigan still has a chance to work their way to the top.

Daelin Hayes – LB – Ann Arbor (MI) Skyline: Hayes is a 6’4″, 250 lb. prospect who committed to USC last summer; he also has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, and numerous others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 outside linebacker, and #82 overall. Hayes will be in town for a Tom Lemming photo shoot and despite living in Ann Arbor now, he is not expected to strongly consider Michigan.

Ron Johnson, Jr. – DE – Camden (NJ) Camden: Johnson is a 6’4″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #17 weakside end, and #270 overall. As a junior in 2014, he had 84 tackles and 10 sacks. Johnson is a teammate of Hawkins. He appears to have a strong motor and some good football intuition, along with some pretty good athleticism.

Michael Jordan – OT – Plymouth (MI) Plymouth: Jordan is a 6’6″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #18 offensive tackle, and #181 overall. He has visited Michigan numerous times and the Wolverines are thought to be his leader.

Khalid Kareem – DE – Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison: Kareem is a 6’4″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #14 strongside end, and #225 overall. He was briefly committed to Michigan State in January 2015. As a junior in 2014, he made 85 tackles and 18 sacks.

Josh King – DE – Hinsdale (IL) South: King is a 6’6″, 250 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #4 strongside end, and #51 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 70 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. Michigan is believed to be one of King’s top three destinations.

Cedrick Lattimore – DE – Detroit (MI) East English Village: Lattimore is a 6’5″, 241 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa and a handful of MAC schools. He’s currently an unranked prospect.

Ostell Martin – OG – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Martin is a 6’5″, 330 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. With his size some offers should come eventually, but he is somewhat stiff and could afford to work his body into better shape.

Ahmir Mitchell – WR – Egg Harbor City (NJ) Timber Creek: Mitchell is a 6’3″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 athlete, and #88 overall. Mitchell, who was being recruited as a safety by Michigan’s previous staff, is now being looked at as a receiver. He recently placed Michigan in his top six schools. Despite attending a different school, he will be headed to Ann Arbor with Hawkins and Johnson, all of whom have rescheduled this visit from last weekend’s canceled itinerary.

Michael Onwenu – OG – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Onwenu is a 6’2″, 310 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 offensive guard, and #211 overall. Onwenu doubles as a defensive tackle and is being recruited by some teams on that side of the ball, but Michigan wants him as an interior offensive lineman.

Andrew Pryts – S – Hermitage (PA) Hickory: Pryts is a 6’2″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #48 safety, and #701 overall. Pryts is a physical, hard-hitting safety who is thought to be a heavy Penn State lean.

David Reese – LB – Farmington (MI) Farmington: Reese is a 6’1″, 235 lb. prospect who committed to Louisville earlier this month; he also has offers from Indiana, Pitt, and several MAC schools. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #23 inside linebacker, and #686 overall. Reese is a teammate of wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick, who is also committed to Louisville . . . for now.

Demetric Vance – S – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Vance is a 6’1″, 193 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #21 safety, and #406 overall.

Devin Waldon – LB – Detroit (MI) East English Village: Waldon is a 6’0″, 229 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

2017
David Adams – LB – Pittsburgh (PA) Central Catholic:
Adams is a 6’1″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, and others. He is currently unranked.

Corey Bolds – DE – Paramus (NJ) Catholic: Bolds is a 6’3″, 268 lb. prospect with an offer from Rutgers (EDIT: he was offered by Michigan this weekend). He is the teammate of Rashan Gary (see above).

Rodney Hall – QB – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Hall is a 6’3″, 204 lb. left quarterback with no offers at this time. Wearing his #7 and throwing from the left side, he looks a little like Michael Vick, although not the same level of athlete.

Jaylen Kelly-Powell – S – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Kelly-Powell is a 6’0″, 183 lb. prospect who has picked up recent offers from Miami-OH and Northwestern. He’s a currently unranked. He claims a 4.49 forty.

Donovan Parker – WR – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Parker is a 6’0″, 165 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Donovan Peoples-Jones – WR – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Peoples-Jones is a 6’2″, 183 lb. prospect with offers from LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #2 wide receiver, and #12 overall. He claims a 4.43 forty. His father is former Michigan player Shonte Peoples.

Isaiah Pryor – S – Lawrenceville (GA) Archer: Pryor is a 6’2″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #5 safety, and #70 overall. Pryor is a teammate of 2016 offensive tackle offeree E.J. Price, who named Michigan his leader recently.

Willie Reid – S – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Reid is a 6’1″, 177 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Jamyest Williams – CB – Lawrenceville (GA) Archer: Williams is a 5’9″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #9 athlete, and #84 overall. Another teammate of Price’s, Williams was offered by Michigan’s previous staff and that offer was reaffirmed by Harbaugh and Co. He recently ran a 4.52 laser-timed forty and claims a 41″ vertical. As a sophomore in 2014, he carried the ball 85 times for 700 yards and 8 touchdowns; he also caught 35 passes for 452 yards and 5 touchdowns; and on defense he made 60 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 25 pass breakups.

2018

Emil Ekiyor – OG – Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral: Ekiyor is a 6’3″, 280 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He is the son of Emil Ekiyor, a Nigerian immigrant who played at Central Florida before playing six years in the NFL. The younger Ekiyor will be on campus Thursday, March 26.

Kalon Gervin – CB – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Gervin is a 5’11”, 170 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Recruiting Update: April 28, 2014

New Lenox (IL) Providence Catholic wide receiver Miles Boykin
(image via High School Cube)

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2015
Reisterstown (MD) Franklin offensive guard Patrick Allen was offered by Michigan. Allen is a 6’5″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, and Wisconsin, among many others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #27 offensive tackle, and #236 overall. Allen is a long, athletic kid who I think could play tackle or guard at the next level. He looks like a very good prospect, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he moves up in the rankings.

Montverde (FL) Montverde Academy offensive tackle Abdul Bello was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 295 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, and Miami, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #19 offensive tackle, and #204 overall. Bello plays a little high, but he moves extremely well for his size. Florida is the supposed leader here.

New Lenox (IL) Providence Catholic wide receiver Miles Boykin was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 212 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Illinois, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #23 wide receiver, and #185 overall. Boykin visited Michigan for the spring game on April 5th and picked up an offer this past week. Michigan’s coaching staff has told him that they want to use him like Devin Funchess, but it might depend on how his body fills out. Boykin is a good athlete for his size, but he is not particularly explosive so he will need to be a possession receiver who gets his yards after the catch by overpowering tacklers. The Funchess comparison is apt.

Woodbridge (VA) C.D. Hylton offensive guard Matt Burrell was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin, among others. Burrell visited Michigan in September 2013 for the game against Notre Dame and came away raving about his visit, but the Wolverines held off on offering. He and Manassas (VA) Stonewall Jackson defensive tackle Tim Settle, who also holds a Michigan offer, have been talked about as a package deal, but Burrell seems more attainable than Settle. Burrell is a nasty blocker, but while some sites list him as a tackle, he looks more like a guard to me.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy quarterback Deondre Francois was offered by Michigan. There’s actually been some debate about whether an offer was extended or not, but some recruiting sites are still reporting an offer, so I’m leaving him on the board. Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier did watch him throw at his school last week, and there’s at least some level of interest there. Francois is a 6’1″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Central Florida, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, and South Florida, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #9 dual-threat quarterback, and #249 overall. Francois attended Olympia High School in Orlando last year but has transferred to IMG Academy to get him ready for college. Francois reportedly has some accuracy issues, but he has a cannon for an arm, he looks pretty polished as a thrower, and he’s a good runner with a 4.6 forty. As a junior in 2013, Francois completed 104/213 passes (48.9%) for 1,373 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.

Augusta (GA) Christian offensive tackle Zach Giella was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 300 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, Duke, Kentucky, Miami, and Wisconsin, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #74 offensive tackle, and the #666 (yikes!) player overall. Giella has the thick lower body and relative stiffness of an offensive guard, so that’s where I would project him at the next level. It’s tough to pull kids out of the south, and Giella appears destined to stay below the Mason-Dixon Line.

Jacksonville (FL) Bishop Kenny offensive guard Tyler Jordan was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 280 lb. prospect who committed to Florida in February; he also has offers from Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, and Stanford, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #3 center, and #381 overall. Jordan plays left tackle in high school, but the Gators plan to use him as a center; he looks like an interior guy to me.

Tampa (FL) Sickles running back Ray-Ray McCloud III was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’9″, 175 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA, and Wisconsin, among others. As a junior in 2013, he had 300 carries for 2,316 yards and 26 touchdowns, plus 11 catches for 173 yards and 1 score. McCloud is a speedy, shifty back who would probably have a fair number of his scores called back for taunting if he were playing college football. Florida looks like the leader right now.

Greenbelt (MD) Eleanor Roosevelt offensive tackle Isaiah Prince was offered by Michigan. Prince is a 6’6″, 275 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida, Maryland, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 offensive tackle, and #114 overall. (In case you’re wondering, I can find no evidence of relation to 2014 offensive tackle Damian Prince, who is also from Maryland and signed with the Terrapins.) Prince broke his leg and missed much of the 2013 season, but the potential is obviously there if he can remain healthy.

Flower Mound (TX) Marcus offensive tackle Keaton Sutherland was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #30 offensive tackle, and #256 overall. Unger could play guard or tackle at the next level. Both of his parents are Michigan natives, so he has connections to the area, but he has mentioned reservations about playing so far away from home. Sutherland attends the alma mater of former Michigan running back Stephen Hopkins, and the Wolverines have also offered teammate Kaden Smith, a 2016 tight end. Sutherland is expected to commit to Arkansas.

Jacksonville (FL) First Coast offensive tackle William Sweet was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 270 lb. prospect who committed to North Carolina earlier this month; he also has offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and Miami, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #66 offensive tackle, and #583 overall. Sweet stated that he committed to UNC for their academics, which sort of implies that Michigan would be an acceptable school as well. He appears open to the idea of being recruited by other schools.

Tampa (FL) Wharton wide receiver Auden Tate was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and South Carolina, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #47 wide receiver, and #394 overall. As a junior in 2013, he had 49 catches for 815 yards and 5 touchdowns. Tate does not have great speed, but he catches with his hands away from the body and makes some ridiculously acrobatic snags. He’s also a good blocker. Tate immediately named Michigan his top school because the Wolverines were his childhood favorite, although Florida State might factor in if they offer.

Hopewell (VA) Hopewell defensive end Darrell Taylor was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Iowa, Miami, Notre Dame, Virginia, and Virginia Tech, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #21 weakside end, and #481 overall. As a junior in 2013, he had 54 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 1 interception, 4 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries. Taylor is a lanky kid who plays some outside linebacker – and made a nice touchdown return on that interception – but he does look like a weakside end at the next level. So far it looks like Virginia Tech will be tough to beat.

Orlando (FL) West Orange running back Dexter Williams was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 192 lb. prospect who committed to Miami earlier this month; he also has offers from Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, USC, and Wisconsin, among others. Williams is a 247 Composite 4-star, the #4 running back, and #64 overall. He claims a 4.54 forty and had 1,072 rushing yards as a junior in 2013. Williams looks like he has good speed and is a slasher. Despite being committed to the Hurricanes, he is open to visiting other schools.

Hampton (GA) Lovejoy wide receiver Preston Williams was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas A&M, among others; he committed to Tennessee back in September of 2013. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 wideout, and the #44 player overall. As a junior in 2013, he had 59 receptions for 1,388 yards and 14 touchdowns. As you might expect from someone averaging about 23 yards/catch, Williams has excellent speed, coordination, and change of direction.

ADDED TO THE BOARD:
2016
Plant City (FL) Plant City wide receiver Tavares “T.J.” Chase was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Central Florida, Clemson, Miami, and Virginia Tech, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #37 athlete, and #217 overall for his class. As a sophomore in 2013, he caught 28 passes for 562 yards and 4 touchdowns, and he had 43 tackles and 3 interceptions on defense.

Toccoa (GA) Stephens County offensive tackle Ben Cleveland was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’7″, 322 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas. Cleveland is a mammoth kid who probably projects to right tackle at the next level. He has stated a definite plan to see Michigan before he commits anywhere, although that commitment is not imminent. On a side note, he has hit 10 home runs for his high school baseball team this season.

Darien (IL) Hinsdale South defensive end Josh King was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 250 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Iowa, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Wisconsin, among others. As a sophomore in 2013, he had 25 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. 247 Sports ranks him as a 4-star, the #2 strongside end, and the #45 player overall. King looks more like an offensive tackle than a defensive end to me, but he obviously still has some filling out to do either way.

Washington (DC) Archbishop Carroll offensive tackle Jauan Williams was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’7″, 275 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Ohio State, UCLA, Virginia, and Virginia Tech, among others. 247 Sports ranks him as a 4-star, the #5 offensive tackle, and #11 overall. (I have a hard time believing there are five offensive tackles among the top eleven players in the nation, but whatever.) Williams’s highlights show a big, athletic guy who needs to work on his balance; they also show a player who could be called for holding on just about every play. I’m not particularly impressed with his technique or attitude, but he’s just a sophomore in high school.

OFF THE BOARD
Alabama transfer Chad Lindsay will play his grad transfer year at Ohio State. Despite having played – and started at times – for new Michigan offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier in Tuscaloosa, Lindsay went with the Buckeyes. He probably would start at either school, and Ohio State lost four seniors after the 2013 season. There has been a rumor that Michigan’s admissions office would not accept Lindsay as a transfer student, which might explain away the expected advantage Michigan had with Nussmeier.

Scottsdale (AZ) Chaparral offensive tackle Keenan Walker committed to Arizona. That’s the same high school that produced Michigan players Craig Roh and Taylor Lewan.

MISCELLANEOUS
Here’s a list of this past weekend’s visitor. Yes, it’s singular, because I’m not sure that anyone else visited. Michigan State’s spring game was on Saturday, and there were a number of prospects flocking to East Lansing. That included St. Paul (MN) Cretin-Derham defensive end Jashon Cornell, who named Michigan State his #1 school, and a contingent of Detroit (MI) Cass Tech players.

Here’s a working list of the players Michigan coaches have visited in the month of April.

Over on Recruiting Season  this past week, I profiled Northville TE Ryan Roberts, East Kentwood OG John Keenoy, Lansing Everett WR Leondre Damon Terry, Grand Rapids South Christian QB Jon Wassink, and Livonia Churchill OT Matt Skibinski.
