2026 Recruiting Update: January 12, 2025

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2026

Marietta (GA) Kell safety Tony Forney, Jr. (247 Sports 3-star, #49 safety) was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 175 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Georgia, and Pitt, among others.

Leesburg (GA) Lee County safety Lasiah “L.A.” Jackson (4-star, #18 S, #221 overall) was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 167-pounder with offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and others.

Cleveland (OH) Glenville linebacker Cincere Johnson (4-star, #8 LB, #108 overall) was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. Glenville is traditionally an Ohio State stronghold, so it will be tough to pull him away from there.

TRANSFER PORTAL

Donaven McCulley – WR – Indiana: McCulley is a 6’5″, 203 lb. former quarterback who transitioned to receiver at Indiana. He entered the transfer portal in the off-season and was courted by Michigan, but he was convinced to rejoin Indiana’s squad. After not being a major factor early in the year (2 catches, 21 yards, 1 TD in the first five weeks), he decided to re-enter the transfer portal and is now considering Michigan again. UPDATE: McCulley visited Virginia Tech and may visit Michigan later, but did not come to Ann Arbor this weekend.

2025

Andrew Babalola – OT – Overland Park (KS) Blue Valley Northwest: Babalola (5-star, #2 OT, #11 overall) committed to Michigan.

Avery Gach – OT – Franklin (MI) Groves: Gach is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Quante Gillians – DE – Rochester (NY) Aquinas Institute: Gillians is a 6’3″, 278 lb. prospect who has been committed to Syracuse since June 2024. Michigan offered him in the last month, and he also has offers from Boston College and Pitt, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #101 defensive lineman, and #978 overall.

Nakai Amachree – RB – Haslett (MI) Haslett: Amachree is a 5’11”, 195 lb. prospect with some MAC, Ivy League, and military academy offers, plus Marshall. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star and the #100 running back in the country. He visited Ann Arbor last Sunday.

Jeremiah Beasley – LB – Belleville (MI) Belleville: Beasley is a 6’1″, 210-pounder with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, and more. He’s a 4-star, the #21 linebacker, and #250 overall. All four crystal balls are in favor of MSU. He’s visiting on Tuesday, March 21.

Manuel Beigel – DT – Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall: Beigel is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Luke Hamilton – OG – Avon (OH) Avon: Hamilton is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jordon Johnson-Rubell – S – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Johnson-Rubell is a 5’10”, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, TCU, Texas, and others. He’s a 4-star, the #7 safety, and #87 overall.

Max LeBlanc – TE – Chattanooga (TN) Baylor: LeBlanc is a 6’4″, 225-pounder with offers from Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #18 tight end, and #372 overall. He made 39 catches for 695 yards and 3 touchdowns as a junior in 2022.
