Isaiah Wilson 617x

Brooklyn (NY) Poly offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson

Michigan is putting together a junior day for the Michigan State basketball game on February 6. Here is the beginning of a list of players who are expected to attend, although this is a bare-bones list so far:

2016
Terius Wheatley – CB – Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer: Wheatley is the son of Michigan running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley and the brother of Michigan tight end Tyrone Wheatley, Jr. As far as I know, he does not have any scholarship offers.

2017
Corey Malone-Hatcher – DE – St. Joseph (MI) St. Joseph: Hatcher is a 6’3″, 246 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #10 weakside end, and #186 overall. He has visited Michigan numerous times, and the Wolverines have 89% of his Crystal Ball picks so far. Malone-Hatcher suffered a lower leg injury this past season that caused him to miss a large chunk of his junior year.

Scott Nelson – S – Detroit (MI) U of D Jesuit: Nelson is a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Boston College, Miami-OH, Michigan, and Northwestern. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #45 safety, and #616 overall. The offer from Michigan came in recently, and he’s strongly considering the Wolverines at this point.

Joshua Ross – LB – Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary’s: Ross is a 6’1″, 210 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 inside linebacker, and #144 overall. Michigan has 100% of his Crystal Ball picks so far. He is the younger brother of James Ross III, who just completed his career as a linebacker at Michigan.

Antjuan Simmons – LB – Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer: Simmons is a 6’1″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #23 outside linebacker, and #358 overall. He recently left Michigan off of his top list, probably in part because the Wolverines dragged their feet on offering him. It remains to be seen whether Michigan can get back in on his recruitment, but they should have a good chance, since he goes to school across the street from Michigan Stadium.

Allen Stritzinger – RB – Warren (MI) De La Salle: Stritzinger is a 6’0″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Michigan, and some MAC schools. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #25 running back, and #338 overall. The Crystal Ball is 100% in favor of Michigan right now, and he has declared Michigan his leader.

Isaiah Wilson – OT – Brooklyn (NY) Poly: Wilson is a 6’7″, 322 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and Stanford, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #5 offensive tackle, and #15 overall. (Really? There are five tackles in the top 15 players in the country?) Wilson has openly declared that Michigan is his leader.

2018
Tyrique Wheatley – CB – Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer: Wheatley, the younger brother of Terius (see above), is a 5’11”, 165 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Rashan Gary

2016
Devin Asiasi – TE – Concord (CA) De La Salle:
Asiasi is a 6’3″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, UCLA, USC, and Washington, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #2 athlete, and #50 overall. He had a touchdown catch in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl a couple Sundays ago. Michigan has been recruiting him as a tight end since shortly after Jim Harbaugh arrived in Ann Arbor, but he could also play on the defensive line. This is his official visit to Ann Arbor.

Joel Dublanko – LB – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Dublanko is a 6’3″, 227 lb. prospect with offers from Akron, Mississippi State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #12 inside linebacker, and #359 overall. He does not have an offer from Michigan at this time, but since the Wolverines are in a questionable situation when it comes to linebacker depth, he could be in line for one. Originally from the state of Washington, Dublanko is now a teammate of 2016 tight end Isaac Nauta (Georgia).

Conner Edmonds – TE – Germantown (WI) Germantown: Edmonds is a 6’5″, 240 lb. prospect with no FBS offers at this point. As a sophomore in 2015, he caught 10 passes for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Jordan Fuller – S – Old Tappan (NJ) Old Tappan: Fuller is a 6’1″, 196 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 athlete, and #130 overall. Also a U.S. Army Bowl participant, Fuller played corner in that game and could play a number of positions in college – safety, corner, or receiver. His older brother Devin just finished his senior year as a receiver at UCLA. This is Jordan’s official visit.

Mesquite (TX) North OT Jean Delance

Jean Delance – OT – Mesquite (TX) North: Delance is a 6’5″, 291 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 offensive tackle, and #92 overall. An Under Armour All-American, this is thought to be a three-horse race between Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas with the Wolverines playing a little from behind. Delance is essentially the only offensive tackle left on Michigan’s board, so if they want a true tackle in the 2016 class, they may need to expand their board if Delance goes elsewhere. This official visit was rescheduled from Ohio State week.

Jordan Elliott – DT – Houston (TX) Westside: Elliott committed to Michigan on the weekend of the Ohio State game (LINK).

Chris Evans – RB – Indianapolis (IN) Ben Davis: Evans committed to Michigan in June (LINK).

Visitors: Michigan vs. Ohio State

Mecole Hardman, Jr. is the top-rated 2016 recruit headed to Michigan.

Michigan is in for a huge recruiting weekend, with several official visitors and a ton of underclassmen headed to Ann Arbor. I will update the list throughout this week, as I’m sure there will be additions and perhaps some subtractions. Below is the scoop on no fewer than 69 prospects.

2016
Drew Beesley – DE – Warren (MI) De La Salle:

Christian Boyd – DT – Muskegon (MI) Mona Shores:

Ben Bredeson – OT – Hartland (WI) Arrowhead: Bredeson committed to Michigan in June (LINK). This is his official visit.

Chris Brown – CB – Houston (TX) Alief Elsik: Brown is a 5’11”, 183 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, and UCLA. On 247 Sports, 75% of his predictions are in favor of Texas. He’s a teammate of linebacker Dontavious Jackson (see below). This is Brown’s official visit.

Devin Bush, Jr. – LB – Pembroke Pines (FL) Flanagan: Bush is a 5’11”, 226 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida State, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 inside linebacker, and #230 overall. His father is a former Florida State and NFL safety (and Bush, Jr.’s high school head coach). Recently, the talk has been that the three aforementioned schools are nearly tied at the top of his list, although Michigan has felt confident about their chances with him for a while. He has two teammates, safety Josh Metellus and safety/linebacker Devin Gil, who are committed to the Wolverines. UPDATE: Bush’s Friday playoff game will prevent him from making the trip.

Bailey Byrum – OT – Sweetwater (TN) Sweetwater:

Keyshon Camp – DT – Lakeland (FL) Lake Gibson: Camp is a 6’3″, 269 lb. prospect who committed to USC in June; he also has offers from Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Oregon, and Texas, among others. He took an official visit to Michigan earlier this year and is returning on his own dime.

Donnie Corley – WR – Detroit (MI) King: Corley is a 6’2″, 182 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #20 wide receiver, and #118 overall. Michigan State is considered the front-runner, but Michigan has been making a push in his recruitment over the last few months. He has set his announcement date for December 8th.

Visitors: Michigan vs. Michigan State

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy tight end Isaac Nauta is one of many elite players scheduled to be in town.

I have shortened down some of the writeups this week for the sheer number of prospects visiting. It’s a huge recruiting opportunity for Michigan.

2016
Korey Banks – WR – Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek: Banks committed to North Carolina in July after being offered by the Wolverines. He unofficially visited in the spring and reportedly had a great visit, but the Tarheels pulled him in, anyway. Michigan was initially recruiting him as a wide receiver, although he could also play cornerback.

Donnie Corley – WR – Detroit (MI) King: Corley said he will probably make it. He is strongly considering both Michigan and Michigan State, so it would make sense for him to check out the game.

Dylan Crawford – WR – Rancho Santa Margarita (CA) Catholic: This is Crawford’s official visit.
