Linebacker Ben Gedeon was picked in the 4th round (#120 overall) by the Minnesota Vikings.
Gedeon played a backup role for his first three seasons before finally becoming a starter in his last year. He sat behind some guys who went undrafted, and then he was suddenly a 4th round pick. I’m not sure how that happens. He made 106 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks as a senior in 2016.

Gedeon was always supposed to be a good athlete but never looked that decisive – could have been hindered a bit by playing for 3 DCs. That may have something to do with mildly disappointing LB play the last few years.
I think the edge for him over guys like Bolden, Ross, and Morgan in the eyes of the NFL is that he had NFL-level athleticism and size while they did not.
This felt a little high but I can see what the Vikings like. He’s a low-risk backup, kind of like Darboh.
