2026 Recruiting Update: February 9, 2023

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2026

Naeem Burroughs – WR – Jacksonville (FL) Bolles: Burroughs is a 6’0″, 155 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, and Georgia, among others.

Simeon Caldwell – S – Jacksonville (FL) Bolles: A teammate of Burroughs, Caldwell is a 6’3″, 185 lb. safety with a 4.65 forty time as a freshman.

Messiah Mickens – RB – Camp Hill (PA) Trinity: Mickens is a 5’11”, 185-pounder with offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas A&M at an early juncture.

Brady Smigiel – QB – Newbury Park (CA) Newbury Park: Smigiel is a 6’5″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, and Penn State, among others. As a freshman in 2021, he had 3,467 passing yards with 46 passing touchdowns and 5 rushing scores.

Chaston Smith – CB – Knoxville (TN) Bearden: Smith is a 6’1″, 151-pounder with offers from Kentucky, Louisville, and Ole Miss, among others.

Davison Igbinosun – CB – Ole Miss: Igbinosun is a 6’2″, 185 lb. prospect who will be a sophomore in 2023. He was a 4-star, the #21 cornerback, and #162 overall in the class of 2022. He played this past season at Ole Miss – where former Michigan assistant Chris Partridge was the co-defensive coordinator – and made 36 tackles with 5 pass breakups. With Michigan losing Gemon Green and D.J. Turner II to the NFL, the team has an open spot at corner across from Will Johnson.

2024

Deontae Armstrong – OT – Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Armstrong is a 6’7″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #34 offensive tackle, and #436 overall.

Devontae Armstrong – OT – Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Armstrong is a 6’5″, 288-pounder with offers from the same schools as his twin brother, Deontae. He’s a 3-star, the #27 offensive tackle, and #357 overall.

Caleb Brewer – OT – Reading (PA) Wyomissing: Brewer is a 6’7″, 290 lb. tackle with offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others.

Visitors: Michigan vs. Illinois

2023

Cameron Calhoun – CB – Cincinnati (OH) Winton Woods: Calhoun, a recent Cincinnati decommit, is a 6’0″, 170-pounder with offers from Kentucky, Michigan, and West Virginia. He’s a 3-star, the #48 cornerback, and #483 overall. Calhoun – who was also committed to WVU at one point – decommitted during an official visit to Kentucky last weekend, so that’s the most likely landing spot going into this official visit.

Arion Carter – LB – Smyrna (TN) Smyrna: Carter is a 6’1″, 210 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Memphis, Michigan, Ohio State, and Tennessee; he has been committed to Memphis since July. Carter is a 4-star, the #24 linebacker, and #317 overall. Carter has backed out of a couple other official visit dates to Michigan, so my confidence is not very high that he strongly considers the Wolverines, and many people think he will end up at Alabama.

Amir Herring – OG – West Bloomfield (MI) West Bloomfield: Herring is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jyaire Hill – CB – Kankakee (IL) Kankakee: Hill is a 6’1″, 170-pounder with offers from a bunch of schools, but Illinois and Michigan are the two primary ones on which to focus. He’s a 4-star, the #26 cornerback, and #203 overall. He took officials to Illinois and Michigan over the summer and seems to be going back and forth between the two schools, with Michigan having the lone 247 Sports crystal ball.

Kendrick Bell – WR – Kansas City (MO) Park Hill: Bell is a 6’3″, 180-pounder with offers from Michigan and UMass. He’s the younger brother of Michigan wide receiver Ronnie Bell.

Arion Carter – LB – Smyrna (TN) Smyrna: Carter is a 6’1″, 210 lb. prospect who is committed to Memphis; he also has offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 3-star and the #38 athlete in the class. This is an official visit. UPDATE: Carter is now visiting Tennessee instead of Michigan this weekend.

Jyaire Hill – CB – Kankakee (IL) Kankakee: Hill is a 6’1″, 170-pounder with offers from Auburn, Illinois, Michigan, and Washington, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #13 cornerback, and #147 overall.
