ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017

Leesburg (GA) Lee County fullback Tory Carter, an LSU commit, was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 255 lb. prospect who also has an offer from Troy. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #3 fullback, and #1653 overall. Carter committed to LSU in May, but he’s visiting Ann Arbor this coming weekend, so he must have some interest. Michigan has also offered his 2018 teammate, linebacker/safety Otis Reese.

Fresno (CA) Central East cornerback Jaylon Johnson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 177 lb. prospect with offers from Cal, Florida, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 cornerback, and #98 overall. He claims a 4.55 forty and has been invited to The Opening. He’s a long, physical corner with good feet and hips.

2017 Recruiting Update: June 2, 2016

St. Joseph (MI) St. Joseph DE Corey Malone-Hatcher

Thanks to whomever it was that bought the LG HDTV through the Amazon affiliate link (LINK). All purchases (a.k.a. donations) are appreciated, but a special thanks to that particular reader!

OFF THE BOARD
O’Fallon (IL) O’Fallon running back Kentrail Moran, a 2016 recruit, committed to New Mexico. He was a 247 Composite 3-star, the #47 RB, and #372 overall. At one time he was considered a strong Michigan lean. Michigan, in fact, still leads the Crystal Ball (55%) over Eastern Michigan (45%). So 100% of people missed on that one.

MISCELLANEY
I’m looking at the top prospects in the state of Michigan for 2017. Here’s #1-5 (LINK) and here’s #6-10 (LINK).

Here’s Michigan 2016 camp schedule, along with notes and participants (LINK).

Lamar (TX) Lamar safety Grant Delpit announced that he’ll be transferring to Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy. He joins a long list of players Michigan has offered at IMG Academy, including LB Jordan Anthony, WR Jhamon Ausbon, OG Robert Hainsey, LB Will Ignont, LB Dylan Moses, and C Cesar Ruiz. Speaking of Jordan Anthony, he named Michigan to his top four.

West Linn (OR) West Linn offensive tackle Alex Forsyth will announce his commitment on June 11. He visited Michigan recently, but the 247 Sports Crystal Ball is 100% in favor of Oregon.

Hit the jump on some other news on offerees.

2017

Nico Collins – WR – Pinson (AL) Clay-Chalkville: Collins is a 6’5″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 wide receiver, and #79 overall. He was supposed to visit Ann Arbor for the spring game but ended up visiting Georgia instead. As a junior in 2015, he caught 60 balls for 1,103 yards and 16 TDs. All 11 of his 247 Sports Crystal Ball picks are in favor of the Crimson Tide.

Alex Forsyth – OG – West Linn (OR) West Linn: Forsyth is a 6’5″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Michigan, and Oregon, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #65 offensive tackle, and #584 overall. It’s difficult to pull Oregon players out of Oregon who have Oregon offers, and that seems like it will be the case with Forsyth, too. He has three Crystal Ball predictions, all for the Ducks. He’ll be in town on Wednesday, May 4.

Deron Irving-Bey – DE – Flint (MI) Southwestern: Irving-Bey is a 6’5″, 271 lb. prospect with offers from Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan, and Michigan State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #13 strongside end, and #287 overall. He picked up the offer from the Wolverines toward the end of April. Like Forsyth, Irving-Bey has three Crystal Ball predictions for a green team, but this one is the Spartans. He will be in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, May 3. UPDATE: Irving-Bey did not visit this week and will try to make it to campus in June.

2017 Recruiting Update: April 25, 2016

Adrian Ealy 877x

Baton Rouge (LA) University Lab OT Adrian Ealy

For several years I’ve been keeping a count of the offers Michigan sends out. Under late Lloyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez, and Brady Hoke, the number of reported offers was anywhere between a little over 100 and a max of 195. In Jim Harbaugh’s first full recruiting class, he offered 257 prospects for 2016. This year that number has already exploded to 262 and it’s still over nine months away from National Signing Day. It’s part of the new-era recruiting situation across the country, which is that players just don’t think you’re interested unless you’ve offered them a scholarship.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 217 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Baylor, Georgia, LSU, Miami, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 wide receiver, and #64 overall. Ausbon is just one of many players from IMG with offers from the Wolverines, who held a few spring practices on their campus in Florida. Ausbon is expected to stay in SEC country.

Sacramento (CA) Sheldon wide receiver Alex Cook was offered by Michigan . . . and committed to Washington two days later. Cook is a 6’2″, 170-pounder who’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #131 wide receiver, and #955 overall. He’s the third Michigan target to pick the Huskies in recent days, joining WR Terrell Bynum and DT Marlon Tuipulotu.

Baton Rouge (LA) University Lab offensive tackle Adrian Ealy was offered by Michigan. He stands 6’7″, 280 lbs. and is a 247 Composite 4-star, the #27 offensive tackle, and #128 overall. He has offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, among others. He is thought to be a lean toward the hometown LSU Tigers.

Hit the jump for a few more offers, a couple commitments elsewhere, and some random bits.
