Los Angeles Rams safety Blake Countess scored a touchdown on a blocked punt (see above) and returned 2 kickoffs for 51 yards in a 35-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

  • New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was 14/26 for 133 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in a 26-10 loss to the Detroit Lions.
  • Seattle Seahawks DE Frank Clark made 2 tackles and 1 sack in a 24-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
  • Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess made 4 catches for 67 yards and 1 touchdown in a 31-21 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • Cleveland Browns S Jabrill Peppers made 4 tackles and 3 punt returns for 10 yards in a 21-17 win over the New York Jets.

Former Michigan Athlete of the Week: Tom Brady

New England Patriots wide receiver Tom Brady completed 22/35 passes for 298 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in a 27-24 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Patriots clinched the AFC East title.

Former Michigan Athlete of the Week: Jourdan Lewis

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis made 6 tackles and 3 pass breakups in their 30-10 win over Eli Manning and the New York Giants. This was Lewis’s best overall game of the season.

  • New York Jets CB Jeremy Clark was promoted to the 53-man roster after recovering from his ACL injury, but he didn’t play this weekend

  • Philadelphia Eagles DE Brandon Graham returned a lateral for a TD in the waning moments of a 45-35 win over the Rams. The Rams were trying to eke out a touchdown by lateraling the ball all over the field at the end of the game, and Graham plucked the ball out of the air, broke a tackle, and scored to seal the win.
  • San Francisco 49ers CB Leon Hall made 2 tackles in a 26-16 win over the Houston Texans
  • Green Bay Packers LB Jake Ryan made 7 tackles in a 27-21 win over the Cleveland Browns

Former Michigan Athlete of the Week: Devin Funchess

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess is having a bit of a breakout season. On Monday night against the Miami Dolphins, he caught 5 passes for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has set or matched career highs in most major categories with 43 catches for 535 yards and 5 touchdowns in ten games so far. The Panthers won the Monday night game, 45-21.
