ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2025

Winston Salem (NC) Mount Tabor safety Jadon Blair (4-star, #14 S, #191 overall) was offered by Michigan. Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, and Tennessee have all also offered. His father played at East Carolina and then had a cup of coffee in the NFL.

Sugar Land (TX) Fort Bend Christian defensive end Max Granville (4-star, #16 LB, #128 overall) was offered by Michigan. Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas, and numerous others have all offered. His dad Billy played at Duke and then with the Bengals and Texans in the NFL.

Stockbridge (GA) Stockbridge linebacker Chase Taylor (3-star, #51 LB, #483 overall) was offered by Michigan. Florida State, Missouri, and Tennesee have all offered, too.

OFF THE BOARD

Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall offensive tackle Will Black (4-star, #29 OT, #317 overall) committed to Notre Dame. He was considered a Michigan lean after visiting the Wolverines late in the season, but then the Fighting Irish made a push in the last few weeks before his commitment.

MISCELLANEY

Belleville (MI) Belleville quarterback Bryce Underwood (5-star, #1 QB, #1 overall) is set to announce his commitment on January 6. The strong vibe is that he is set to commit to LSU, while Alabama and Michigan are also in the mix. I do not expect Michigan to get good news here, but it’s nice to have Carter Smith (LINK) already in the fold.

Visitors: 2023 BBQ at the Big House

Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna safety Zaquan Patterson (image via 247 Sports)

Please consider making your Amazon purchases through TTB links (LINK):

Michigan’s annual BBQ at the Big House will be taking place on July 29-30. With a lot of connections already made for the current 2024 recruiting class, the BBQ is always largely about making inroads with underclassmen. Below is a list of players expected to make it to Ann Arbor for the BBQ:

TRANSFER

Nigel Glover – LB – Northwestern: Glover is a 6’3″, 210 lb. transfer from Northwestern who decided to leave the Wildcats after head coach Pat Fitzgerald was fired. He was a 4-star, the #30 linebacker, and #335 overall in the class of 2023 and was the program’s highest rated signee. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Pitt, Purdue, Washington, and West Virginia were some of the other Power Five programs after him out of high school, so that’s a decent offer list but not a great one.

2024

Jeremiah Beasley – LB – Belleville (MI) Belleville: Beasley is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jadyn Davis – QB – Charlotte (NC) Providence Day: Davis is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Blake Frazier – OT – Austin (TX) Vandegrift: Frazier is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Channing Goodwin – WR – Charlotte (NC) Providence Day: Goodwin is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jake Guarnera – C – Ponte Vedra Beach (FL) Ponte Vedra: Guarnera is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Luke Hamilton – OG – Avon (OH) Avon: Hamilton is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Ted Hammond – DE – Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier: Hammond is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jordan Marshall – RB – Cincinnati (OH) Moeller: Marshall is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jacob Oden – S – Harper Woods (MI) Harper Woods: Oden is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Zaquan Patterson – S – Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna: Patterson is a 6’0″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #3 safety, and #76 overall. A teammate of 2025 Michigan commit Chris Ewald (see below), this is Patterson’s second unofficial visit to Ann Arbor.

Brady Prieskorn – TE – Rochester (MI) Adams: Prieskorn is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Ben Roebuck – OT – Lakewood (OH) St. Edward: Roebuck is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jaden Smith – LB – Charlotte (NC) West: Smith is committed to Michigan (LINK).

I’Marion Stewart – WR – Chicago (IL) Kenwood: Stewart is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Hit the jump for the younger prospects.

Burley (ID) Burley wide receiver Gatlin Bair (image via Hudl)

2024

Gatlin Bair – WR – Burley (ID) Burley: Bair is a 6’2″, 180-pounder with offers from Michigan, Oregon, and TCU, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #10 wide receiver, and #44 overall. As a junior in 2022, he caught 73 passes for 1,073 yards and 18 touchdowns. Because he plans to go on a mission after high school, he will not plan to enroll until 2026, so this is a recruitment for the long-term. In other words, by the time he would enroll at Michigan, Jadyn Davis would be a junior. This is an official visit for Bair, whose coach was Colston Loveland’s high school coach.

Michai Boireau – DT – Hampton (GA) Creekside: Boireau is a 6’5″, 390 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #97 defensive lineman, and #998 overall. This is an official visit. UPDATE: Boireau canceled his official visit plans and committed to Florida.

Blake Frazier – OT – Austin (TX) Vandegrift: Frazier is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jameer Grimsley – WR – Tampa (FL) Catholic: Grimsley is a 6’3″, 185-pounder with offers from Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State, and others. He’s a 4-star, the #18 cornerback, and #231 overall. This is an official visit, and he has officials scheduled to all the aforementioned schools.
