2025 Offensive Recruiting Update: November 27, 2024

With National Signing Day looming in early December – and lots of recruiting movement – I wanted to catch up on some of the most recent happenings as Michigan tries to fill out its 2025 recruiting class.

QUARTERBACK

COMMIT: Belleville (MI) Belleville quarterback Bryce Underwood committed to Michigan (LINK). It seems as if Fort Myers (FL) Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith at least suspected that was going to happen, and he decommitted beforehand; Smith recently committed to Wisconsin and will be a Badger instead, perhaps with eyes on getting a bit of revenge against the Wolverines down the road.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Michigan will also be looking to add a quarterback through the transfer portal, and USC transfer Miller Moss has been rumored to be a possible candidate.

Visitors: Michigan vs. Oregon

2025

Triston Abram – DE – St. Louis (MO) Christian Brothers: Abram is a 6’4″, 225-pounder who has been committed to Indiana. His offer list isn’t exceptional, but he’s a 3-star, the #52 edge, and #648 overall in the 2025 class. Michigan needs to replenish its edge rusher talent since Josaiah Stewart and Derrick Moore could both be off to the NFL without much proven depth behind them.

Jamar Browder – WR – Lake Worth (FL) Santaluces: Browder is a 6’3″, 205 lb. prospect who has been committed to North Carolina State. This is his second visit to Ann Arbor this season even though he’s still verbally pledged to NCSU. Browder is a 3-star, the #119 wide receiver, and #793 overall. This is an official visit.

Elijah Dotson – CB – Belleville (MI) Belleville: Dotson is committed to Pitt and has been since May, but Michigan has ramped up its efforts and is recruiting him as an “athlete” who could play offense or defense. He’s a 6’2″, 175-pounder who could play WR, CB, or S and is ranked as a 4-star, the #29 safety, and #296 overall in the 247 Composite. Dotson was at U of D Jesuit in Detroit for his first few years of high school, so he’s getting a little more attention now that he’s at the powerhouse in Belleville.

Christian Ingram – DT – Conyers (GA) Newton: Ingram is a 6’6″, 290-pounder with offers from Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and others. This is an official visit to Ann Arbor, but he has other officials coming up, including to Georgia. Ingram is a 247 Sports 3-star and the #76 defensive lineman in the 2025 class.

He’s a 4-star, the #9 wide receiver, and #61 overall. He has official visits to those other schools for the four subsequent weekends following this official visit to Michigan. His one crystal ball so far is for Notre Dame.

D.J. Sanders – DT – Bellville (TX) Bellville: Sanders is a 6’4″, 290-pounder from Texas with offers from Texas and Texas A&M, plus others. He’s a 4-star, the #11 defensive lineman, and #106 overall. He also has officials set for the Longhorns and the Aggies.

Listed in some places as a tackle – but more likely to be a guard – he has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Washington, among others. He also has an official visit set to visit the Huskies out in Seattle.

Kainoa Winston – S – Washington (DC) Gonzaga: Winston is a 5’10”, 185-pounder with offers from Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, and Penn State, plus others. He’s a 4-star, the #10 safety, and #91 overall. This will be his second visit to Ann Arbor after taking a trip in the spring.
