Ex-Wolverine Updates: Week 1

Tarik Black

FORMER PLAYERS

WR Tarik Black (Texas): Black had 5 catches for 80 yards in a 59-3 win over UTEP. I’ve queued it up where you can watch him make a tough catch and run, breaking numerous tackles along the way before fumbling . . . and then his touchdown on a crossing route:

TE Mustapha Muhammad (Kilgore Junior College): Muhammad transferred from Michigan to Houston and is now at Kilgore Junior College, which has canceled its season due to COVID.

CB Myles Sims (Georgia Tech): Sims made 5 tackles and 2 pass breakups in a 16-13 win over Florida State.

Ex-Wolverine Commits: 2020 Pre-Season

Erik Swenson

Earlier this week, I posted about former Michigan players who have transferred (LINK).

Up next is the players who were at one time committed to the Wolverines.

FORMER COMMITS

RB Tim Baldwin (Indiana): Baldwin is listed as a 6’0″, 217 lb. freshman running back at Indiana.

WR Kalil Branham (Kentucky): Branham, listed at 6’1″ and 202 lbs., is expected to be a backup for the Wildcats this season.

WR George Campbell: Campbell spent last year at West Virginia and applied for a sixth year of eligibility, which was not approved by the NCAA. His career ended and it does not look like he has had an NFL opportunity.

If I Had My Druthers . . . 2020 Transfers

Jovan Swann (#51, image via Rivals)

Michigan is rumored to have some interest in various potential transfers. I will address some of those rumored players here. I cannot claim to have watched all of these players play – especially in college – but I will do my best to evaluate how they would fit on Michigan’s roster.

NOTE: I am only looking at players that Michigan has been tied to in one way or another, because otherwise, obviously this would be way too overwhelming.
