2024 Recruiting Update: June 12, 2023

COMMITMENT

Princeton (NJ) The Hun School defensive tackle Owen Wafle committed to Michigan. I will have a commitment post coming up soon.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2024

Chillicothe (OH) Chillicothe tight end Tayvion Galloway (4-star, #11 TE, #247 overall) decommitted from LSU. With Michigan already having two tight end commitments, I doubt the Wolverines will get back involved here.

OFF THE BOARD

Olney (MD) Good Counsel center Kyle Altuner (3-star, #61 IOL, #867 overall) committed to West Virginia. I thought he was perhaps leaning toward Michigan before the Wolverines got a commitment from fellow center prospect Jake Guarnera.

Nakai Amachree – RB – Haslett (MI) Haslett: Amachree is a 5’11”, 195 lb. prospect with some MAC, Ivy League, and military academy offers, plus Marshall. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star and the #100 running back in the country. He visited Ann Arbor last Sunday.

Jeremiah Beasley – LB – Belleville (MI) Belleville: Beasley is a 6’1″, 210-pounder with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, and more. He’s a 4-star, the #21 linebacker, and #250 overall. All four crystal balls are in favor of MSU. He’s visiting on Tuesday, March 21.

Manuel Beigel – DT – Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall: Beigel is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Luke Hamilton – OG – Avon (OH) Avon: Hamilton is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Jordon Johnson-Rubell – S – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Johnson-Rubell is a 5’10”, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, TCU, Texas, and others. He’s a 4-star, the #7 safety, and #87 overall.

Max LeBlanc – TE – Chattanooga (TN) Baylor: LeBlanc is a 6’4″, 225-pounder with offers from Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #18 tight end, and #372 overall. He made 39 catches for 695 yards and 3 touchdowns as a junior in 2022.

Cole Cabana – RB – Dexter (MI) Dexter: Cabana is committed to Michigan (LINK).

D.J. Chester – OT – McDonough (GA) Eagle’s Landing Christian: Chester is a 6’5″, 300-pounder with offers from Auburn, LSU, Michigan, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #7 offensive tackle, and #55 overall. Auburn, LSU, and Ole Miss have already received official visits, and this is his fourth official of the process.

Spencer Fano – OT – Provo (UT) Timpview: Fano is a 6’5″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from BYU, Clemson, Michigan, Oregon, and Utah, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #8 offensive tackle, and #57 overall. He has visited Utah, Oregon, and Clemson, among others. This is an official visit.

Kyle Altuner – OT – Olney (MD) Good Counsel: Altuner is a 6’4″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Maryland, Miami, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #19 offensive tackle, and #332 overall. He’s a teammate of 2024 linebacker Aaron Chiles, who was also offered recently.

Jamyri Cauley – WR – Dallas (TX) South Oak Cliff: Cauley is a 6’2″, 215-pounder with offers from Georgia, LSU, and Texas, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #11 wide receiver, and #71 overall. As a sophomore in 2021, he caught 35 passes for 938 yards and 10 touchdowns.
