2023 Season Countdown: #129 Trevor Andrews

Last year: I ranked Andrews #124 and said he would be a backup linebacker (LINK). He did not play.

Andrews, a high school teammate of Junior Colson and Myles Pollard, enters his third year in the program. So far he has yet to see the field in a Michigan uniform. I’m not sure if 2023 will be much kinder to him, because he’s dropped down from 6’2″ to 6’1″ on the roster. But the former high school quarterback has transitioned to defense, so it was bound to take a little for him to adjust.

Last year: I did not rank Andrews. He redshirted.

Andrews was a solid high school quarterback who threw for 28 touchdowns as a senior. Of course, it didn’t hurt that he was playing with talent around him, including Michigan linebacker Junior Colson and cornerback Myles Pollard. Instead of continuing on offense, Andrews has made the transition to the other side of the ball, where he’s undersized and inexperienced at linebacker. He’s unlikely to get on the field this fall.
