Eric Gray, Wolverine

Memphis (TN) Lausanne RB Eric Gray (image via Herald-Citizen)

Memphis (TN) Lausanne running back Eric Gray committed to Michigan on Sunday evening. He picked the Wolverines over offers from Alabama, LSU, Penn State, Stanford, and Tennessee, among others.

This is my favorite kind of commitment video:

Gray is listed at 5’10”, 191 lbs. As a junior in 2017, he ran the ball 323 times for 3,151 yards and 45 touchdowns. He also had 11 catches for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns.

RATINGS
ESPN: 4-star, 81 grade, #17 RB, #275 overall
Rivals: 3-star, #9 all-purpose back
247 Sports: 4-star, 94 grade, #1 all-purpose RB, #95 overall

2018

Eyabi Anoma – DE – Baltimore (MD) St. Frances: Anoma is a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Maryland, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #3 weakside end, and #41 overall. His head coach, Biff Poggi, says that Anoma is the best player he’s ever coached, and that includes a bunch of a high-quality players from his days at Baltimore (MD) Gilman. Anoma also visited for the BBQ at the Big House. All six Crystal Ball picks have him going to Alabama. This is his official visit.

Michael Barrett – RB – Valdosta (GA) Lowndes: Barrett is a 5’11”, 215 lb. dual-threat quarterback who projects to running back in college. He’s a 3-star, the #61 athlete, and #706 overall with offers from LSU, Maryland, and Michigan, among others. This is his official visit. UPDATE: Barrett is no longer visiting.

Ja’Marr Chase – WR – Metairie (LA) Archbishop Rummel: Chase is a 6’2″, 190 lb. prospect who recently decommitted from Florida. He’s a 4-star, the #12 wide receiver, and #69 overall with offers from Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, TCU, and Tennessee, among others. TCU has taken the Crystal Ball lead with 76% of current predictions. Michigan just recently offered, so that relationship is still new, but it’s a positive sign that he scheduled a visit to Ann Arbor so quickly. This is his official visit.

Hit the jump for several more visitors.

Recruiting Update: February 15, 2016

Phillip Paea 689x

DECOMMITMENT
Covington (GA) Newton wide receiver Jeremiah Holloman decommitted from Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
Kennedale (TX) Kennedale linebacker Baron Browning decommitted from Baylor. He’s a 6’4″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC, among others. Michigan offered him a few weeks ago, and his brother Barry played cornerback for Jim Harbaugh at Stanford. Baron is a 247 Composite 5-star, the #2 outside linebacker, and #26 overall. I haven’t sat down and made one yet, but Browning would be at the top or near the top of my Most Wanted list.

Berrien Springs (MI) Berrien Springs offensive guard Phillip Paea was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from BYU, Central Michigan, Michigan State, and Oregon. Currently unranked, Paea is a powerful offensive guard with good feet. He also plays some defensive end and defensive tackle, although he’s very raw and lacks instincts. I think he is a better prospect on offense.

Hit the jump for a new 2019 offer and some other bits.
