ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
Houston (TX) Lamar safety Grant Delpit was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 181 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Baylor, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Miami, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #11 safety, and #114 overall. He’s a long, rangy safety with good ball skills who’s willing to hit. Michigan is probably on the outside looking in, since this is a relatively late offer to a guy with lots of big-time programs in pursuit. LSU has six of the nine Crystal Ball predictions, with Baylor having the other three.

St. Petersburg (FL) Admiral Farragut Academy wide receiver Matthew Landers was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 182 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, and North Carolina, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #112 wide receiver, and #755 overall. As a junior in 2015, he caught 34 passes for 1,038 yards and 15 TDs. Landers is a tall target who lacks a little bit in long speed or suddenness.

Muscle Shoals (AL) Muscle Shoals safety Jordyn Peters was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Duke, Louisville, Minnesota, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #93 safety, and #1243 overall. Peters is a hard-hitting strong safety type without a ton of speed or ball skills. Unless Michigan wants three safeties in the class, Peters would be a bit of a reach. They already have J’Marick Woods and probably need a more cover-oriented safety to pair with him.

Hit the jump for a few more offers and some random bits and pieces from the past week.

Denton (TX) Denton offensive tackle Grant Polley was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 265 lb. prospect with offers from Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, and Purdue, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #82 offensive tackle, and #766 overall. He’s pretty athletic and moves his feet, but he needs to get much, much stronger before he’s ready to play on the next level.

Atlanta (GA) Westlake cornerback A.J. Terrell was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and Notre Dame, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #15 cornerback, and #155 overall. I actually like Terrell a little bit more as a wide receiver, because he doesn’t have great feet or hips for the corner position, but he does have good instincts and a defensive mentality. Truthfully, he’s a good prospect on both sides of the ball. However, he will probably play his college ball in SEC country.

St. Petersburg (FL) Admiral Farragut Academy defensive end Jeremiah Zio was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’7″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, and North Carolina, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #39 strongside end, and #744 overall. Good grief, his stance would drive me crazy as a coach, and he’s not supremely athletic. But he’s aggressive, and 6’7″ defensive ends – with plenty of room to grow – don’t grow on trees. He’s a very intriguing prospect.

MISCELLANEOUS
Pinson (AL) Clay-Chalkville wide receiver Nico Collins named Michigan his leader. This came after he visited Ann Arbor on the weekend of May 6-8. That lead is significant because he’s the #11 wide receiver and #79 overall player in the country, along with the fact that he’s from Alabama and has offers from the two home-state powers.

Along with some other players less relevant to Michigan, Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary’s LB Joshua Ross – who is committed to the Wolverines – and Detroit (MI) Cass Tech safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell both earned invites to The Opening, which will be held in Oregon this summer.

grant delpit wouldnt look too shabby in maize and blue.
that cat can ball and is a very intriguing prospect (size / length and physical nature comparable to current commit jmarrick woods, whos a nice prospect, though delpit is currently a more explosive athlete who plays with greater range and better ball skills).
unfortunately, as you mention above, hes also the type prospect michigan has struggled to sign in recent years (even if hes maybe a shade below the handful of truly elite DB type prospects)
