Sometimes it’s almost easier to list which players (starters) didn’t get an award:
    RB Tru Wilson
    WR Donovan Peoples-Jones
    TE Sean McKeon
    TE Nick Eubanks
    C Cesar Ruiz
    RG Michael Onwenu
    RT Jalen Mayfield
    DT Michael Dwumfour
    DT Carlo Kemp
    LB Cam McGrone
    CB Lavert Hill
    S Josh Metellus
    P Will Hart
    K Quinn Nordin
    K Jake Moody

Haha. Yeah – my primary reaction was – that’s a lot of awards!

Next reaction — That’s a lot of redundancy. Some could/should technically go to the same guy (Patterson or Uche) but it’s nice to spread the love.

Carpenter and Ojabo getting scout team player of the year is encouraging. You want to see a red-shirting freshman here more than you want to see a walk-on who isn’t going to directly impact Saturdays.

From a player-retention perspective it’s good to reward those guys toiling outside the limelight.

I agree, especially in regard to Ojabo. Ojabo was very much a project coming out of high school.

I heard good things about Carpenter this year. Word is he’s very likely to factor in next year, especially if Ruiz moves on to the NFL.
