At this rate, he would project out to 746 yards for the regular season, just behind Ricky Powers, who played 12 games, including the bowl. Add in a bowl game and Charbonnet would have sole possession of 2nd place on the list.

To say Mike Hart stood out on this list would be quite an understatement. A mantra I’ve repeated over the last…damn almost 15 years now… there is no NEXT MIKE HART coming. Just a unique player with unique skills. Deveon Smith was the closest we’ve gotten in terms of breaking tackles but he was more power than agility, and obviously not as productive at Hart.

Despite a few exceptions (Powers, Evans), there’s a strong correlation here between freshman year success and career productivity.
That’s a very encouraging sign for ZC. Bright future ahead.

Where’s Hassan Haskins? Redshirt freshman this past year, right?

As a redshirt freshman, he doesn’t count for this list.
