All-Time Single Game Passing Attempts Leaders

November 4, 2020
Tom Brady

You might be able to guess what inspired this post, but here’s a look at the quarterbacks who have attempted the most passes in a single game in Michigan history:

Hit the jump for the list.

  1. 56 attempts – Tom Brady (1998 vs. Ohio State)
  2. 55 attempts – John Navarre (2003 vs. Oregon)
  3. 54 attempts – Chad Henne (2004 vs. Ohio State)
  4. 52 attempts – Scott Dreisbach (1995 vs. Virginia)
  5. 51 attempts – Joe Milton (2020 vs. Michigan State)
  6. 49 attempts – John Navarre (2003 vs. Iowa)
  7. 49 attempts – Chad Henne (2004 vs. Minnesota)
  8. 47 attempts – Dick Vidmer (1966 vs. Michigan State)
  9. 47 attempts – John Navarre (2001 vs. Ohio State)
  10. 47 attempts – John Navarre (2003 vs. Minnseota)
  11. 46 attempts – Brian Griese (1995 vs. Penn State)
  12. 46 attempts – Tom Brady (1999 vs. Alabama)
  13. 46 attempts – John Navarre (2002 vs. Ohio State)
  14. 46 attempts – John Navarre (2003 vs. USC)
  15. 46 attempts – Jake Rudock (2015 vs. Indiana)
  16. 45 attempts – Devin Gardner (2013 vs. Ohio State)
  17. 44 attempts – John Navarre (2001 vs. Washington)
  18. 44 attempts – Chad Henne (2005 vs. Notre Dame)
  19. 44 attempts – Brandon Peters (2017 vs. South Carolina)
  20. 43 attempts – Chad Henne (2005 vs. Nebraska)
  21. 43 attempts – Devin Gardner (2012 vs. Northwestern)
  22. 43 attempts – Jake Rudock (2015 vs. Utah)
  23. 43 attempts – Shea Patterson (2019 vs. Ohio State)
  24. 42 attempts – Todd Collins (2002 vs. Oklahoma State)
  25. 42 attempts – John Navarre (2002 vs. Notre Dame)

It’s pretty crazy to think that John Navarre’s name appears eight times on this list. Navarre was a lightly recruited guy who looked like a defensive end – and played it in high school. Chad Henne is second at four.

Joe Milton’s 51 attempts against Michigan State last Saturday were the most for a Michigan quarterback in sixteen years.
