Former Michigan Athlete of the Week: De’Veon Smith

De’Veon Smith was the Orlando Apollos’ leading rusher with 14 carries for 119 yards (8.5 YPC) in a 31-14 win over the Birmingham Iron. He was the only player in the whole league to top 89 yards this week.

HONORABLE MENTION

  • Matt Godin, DL (San Antonio Commanders): Godin made 1 tackle in a 29-25 win over the Arizona Hotshots.
  • Ty Isaac, RB (Birmingham Iron): I saw Isaac standing on the sideline in street clothes for the 31-14 loss to the Apollos.
  • Denard Robinson, RB (Atlanta Legends): Robinson had 1 carry for -6 yards and 1 catch for 9 yards in the 23-20 win over the Memphis Express.
  • Channing Stribling, CB (Memphis Express): Stribling made 2 tackles in the 23-20 loss to the Legends.
