Jeremy Clark to Jets in 6th round (#197 overall)

Cornerback Jeremy Clark was drafted by the New York Jets in the 6th round (#197 overall).

This is a very interesting pick, because Clark tore his ACL early in 2016 and was basically forced to leave school when the NCAA didn’t approve his application for a sixth year of eligibility. He showed up at the Combine and did 20 reps on the bench press at 6’3″, 220 lbs., but he couldn’t do anything involving his lower body. Hopefully he can stay healthy, but I will be curious to see whether he plays corner or safety for the Jets.

Jake Butt goes to Broncos in 5th round (#145 overall)

Tight end Jake Butt was drafted in the 5th round (#145 overall) by the Denver Broncos.

Butt suffered a torn ACL in the bowl game against Florida State, but he won the Mackey Award this year with 46 catches for 546 yards and 4 touchdowns. He took out an insurance policy against getting hurt, so he made several hundred thousand dollars by dropping in the draft.

Jehu Chesson goes to Chiefs in 4th round (#139 overall)

Wide receiver Jehu Chesson was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 4th round (#139 overall), one pick after Ryan Glasgow.

Chesson ran a 4.41 at Michigan’s pro day and showed off a 39.5″ vertical. He struggled during his senior year (35 catches, 500 yards, 2 TDs), but he had a great finish to his redshirt junior year and ended the season with 50 catches for 764 yards and 9 receiving touchdowns, not to mention 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 kickoff return score.

Ryan Glasgow to Bengals in 4th round (#138 overall)

Defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow was picked in the 4th round (#138 overall) by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Last year his brother, Graham Glasgow, was a 3rd round choice of the Detroit Lions. Both players were walk-ons, and Ryan in particular seemed to improve year after year while he was at Michigan. He made 42 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks as a senior in 2016.
