Recruiting Update: February 10, 2016

Netori Johnson 654x

Ellenwood (GA) Cedar Grove offensive guard Netori Johnson

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
Gadsden (AL) Gadsden City offensive tackle Toryque Bateman was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’8″, 315 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #49 offensive tackle, and #409 overall. Bateman moves pretty well for his size, but he struggles to bend at the knees and needs to play lower.

Menomonie (WI) Menomonie offensive tackle Alex Fenton was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 280 lb. prospect with an offer from Wisconsin. His Hudl highlights are private and he has not received a ton of recruiting attention yet, so information is pretty slim.

Ellenwood (GA) Cedar Grove offensive guard Netori Johnson decommitted from Alabama. He’s a 6’5″, 330 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #4 offensive guard, and #114 overall. Johnson was committed to Alabama since last summer, and Michigan was the last offer he received before decommitting. Johnson was one of a flurry of offers that went out recently at Cedar Grove, and he was a teammate of 2016 Michigan signee Elysee Mbem-Bosse.

Hit the jump for some more 2017 offers, a couple 2018 offers, and some random bits.

Jadeveon Clowny 657x

Jadeveon Clowney was the #1 overall prospect in 2011

I’m going to be doing some giveaways/contests on the site to promote the Forum (LINK), so right now there’s a Pick the Score contest going for Wednesday’s basketball game against Minnesota (LINK).

In recent years, Michigan has received commitments from top-ranked running back Derrick Green and cornerback Jabrill Peppers. In response, I posted a look back at the #1 rated tailbacks (LINK) and cornerbacks (LINK). This year Michigan got a commitment from the #1 overall recruit, New Jersey’s Rashan Gary. So below you will find a rundown of #1 recruits going back to the year 2000, which is as far back as the 247 Composite rankings go.

Hit the jump for the #1 all-time recruits, including Adrian Peterson, Vince Young, Jadeveon Clowney, and Dorial Green-Beckham.
