Chase Winovich

Larry Prout got to meet Tom Brady:

Hit the jump for more.

Former Michigan (and Cal) tight end Ian Bunting had the ball knocked out on a crazy good play by a safety:

You can also see Bunting make a 45-yard catch at the 5:03 mark of the highlights below. He had 3 catches for 77 yards total, along with that fumble above.

Would be interesting to hear your reactions to some of these recent coaching comments Thunder.

    e.g.,

Don Brown claiming 10 deep on the fastest DL he’s had. CB concerns.
Josh Gattis claiming it’s HIS offense and Harbaugh isn’t really involved.

This might be the fastest DL he’s had from top to bottom. I don’t believe Michigan is 10 deep, at least not with players that can actually make a positive contribution. Danna, Dwumfour, Jeter, Kemp, Hutchinson, Paye, Vilain, throw in Uche, maybe Hinton and Smith, but those freshman guys are rarely impact guys.

I agree with cornerback concerns. That’s the biggest hole on the roster from a talented depth perspective, except perhaps running back. But again, Michigan has made mediocre cornerbacks into solid players and/or draft picks before (Watson, Stribling, Clark, etc.). I think they’ll find a way.

I don’t expect Harbaugh to have much influence on this offense. I think Gattis is overselling it when he says Harbaugh hasn’t talked to him at all about the offense, because…like…that’s what coaches do. They talk. They ask questions. They make tweaks. Etc. It’s not like Gattis is sitting in a dark film room coming up with play designs, coming out, and installing everything himself with all the position groups like a crazy mad scientist.

Thanks. I pretty much agree. Suspect the speed thing is about DT’s being light and maybe some wishful thinking from that reality. Kind of accepting the weakness and focusing on the positive.

Similar situation with Gattis claiming RB is his deepest position. No proven high end talent has separated from the pack means the 5th guy isn’t so far from the 1st. That’s a kind of depth if you’re inclined to think a certain way. Somebody inclined to think a different way may see a converted FB and converted LB as cause for concern.

Regardless of the degree to which it is spin, I prefer what’s being said at RB and DL to what is being said at CB. They’re just admitting openly that’s a problem they hope will sort itself out. Will be interesting to see what Zordich says – he’s not usually one to be coy.

How do you lose both Rashan Gary & Chase Winovich, and get faster? Who did we add? I’m not buying it

Same with Gattis. He’s overselling, big-time
