I don’t ever link these types of things, but here are some NFL helmet designs with local college colors (a.k.a. a Lions helmet with U of M colors). Here’s the link (LINK).
Here’s an SI article on Clemson’s religious culture (LINK).
Mick McCabe of the Detroit Free Press talks about how parents are dragging down high school sports (LINK).
Allen Trieu has a piece on 2020 linebacker commit Kalel Mullings (LINK).

I might be an asshole for this, but every time I see the Clemson religious culture article, my first thought is “gross”.

Item 1: Why are they using M’s colors? Shouldn’t they be using Wayne State’s? (And please don’t ever link this kind of thing again)
On Don Brown: I think his defense strategy & tactics are excellent for the college game since far and away (obviously) most college qb’s are not potential NFL caliber his aggressiveness worx. But when ever his defense goes up against a potential or bona fide future NFL QB it seems to struggle.
And now for the Clemson piece: I can rag on Judeo-Christian-Islamic religion in general & Christianity in particular ad nausea and on several philosophy & secular based forums I frequent I do just that but this being a football blog I’ve refrained/restrained BUT since you’ve brought it up………….. (and I’ll keep sports related)
I have long been tired when an athlete gives their little cross sign when they score a TD, hit a home run, look ‘UP’ point to “Heavens”; make some play and in the onfield interview, they’re given ‘thanks be to god’, etc…….
……….and while I’m at it I remember a post game presser a few years back when Jimmy Harbaugh’s ‘Brother John’ shows up with a bunch of black stuff smeared on his frikkin forehead. At first I thought it was a dirt spot on my ipad and I needed to clean the screen and then I realized he had some dirt, grease, soot, sharpie ink, IDFK, smeared on his forehead – totally foreign to me. I was LMFAO cause I’m like “WTF”, he shows up to a presser with dirt/shit on his face?? but after I did a lil bit of googlin, I found it it was about some frikkin Catholic/ Chrisitan ‘holiday’ or sumthin………
Team Prayers before & after games, etc. A player gets hurt on the field and the cameras are swinging the sidelines broadcasting eveyone given there lil catholic cross signs etc.
Anyway this crap has been rampant in sports for tooo long on a variety of levels and not just at Clemson . This junk is literaly the cornerstone of the last 2000 years of Western Culture/ History and itsa gunna be around, unfortunately for kind of awhile yet………..
Now I’ll stfu cause this is a football blog.
Thanx……….INTJohn

Clemson just comes off as forcing religion on the players. That’s why I think it’s gross.
Organized religion is dumb to me in general, forcing your beliefs on other people is another level of gross.
I don’t know how people can think any one religion is right. Christianity is the only way! So the millions of people who lived in the Americas, Asia, every area south of North Africa, Europe, etc. are all burning in hell because they didn’t have the technology to be told about Jesus. Got it. Makes total sense.
You can replace Christianity with whatever religion you want and it’s the same scenario. 99% of ancient people are all in hell because they were born in the wrong place to adhere to your preferred religion. Idiotic.

Interesting ideas Stevo.
Saquan Barkley mattered IMO. Barry Sanders too. Maybe Najee Harris is another. He was after all the number 2 recruit in the country.
That was a helluva run he had – Deveon power with Denard speed. Awesome highlight. But maybe we can see if there’s any analysis deeper than that. Maybe we learned something from the Sam McGuffie era if not earlier that analysis by highlight isn’t especially useful.
Harris can back his claim to being an impact player by having a significantly better YPC in ’18 than the 2 other backs Alabama had. Both of them got drafted into the NFL too. He also, small sample size alert but still, outrushed them in the title game against Clemson. 6.6 ypc with a long of only 13 – impressive! That’s consistently good production.
Must be why Alabama decisively bea…. checks notes. Hu. Hmmm. I don’t know what to make of this. 3 elite running backs on one side. On the other side, the majority of snaps go to a pass-blocking specialist, undrafted in the NFL, rated outside the top 200 as a recruit, ran for 1.7 ypc in the game. Weird. I’ll have to think about his a little more.
