Michigan offered Del Valle (TX) Del Valle wide receiver Caleb Burton. He’s a 6’0″, 165-pounder with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. His father played linebacker at Syracuse.
As a sophomore in 2019, Burton caught 51 passes for 882 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Two commitments into the 2022 class, 50% of them have already dipped.
BellevilleDetroit King Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy safety Myles Rowser decommitted from Michigan recently. His social media account originally showed less, uh, Michigan flavor, and then word came out that he had officially decommitted. He originally committed to the Wolverines on the day of the national championship game back in January (LINK).
I tend not to get too worked up about players so far ahead of their signing – whether positive or negative – so almost two years in advance of National Signing Day, I don’t have much of an emotional reaction to this story.
Rowser is a solid prospect and his older brother is Michigan freshman cornerback Andre Seldon, Jr. That means there’s still a good chance that he ends up back in Michigan’s class. But for now, Essexville (MI) Garber defensive lineman Alex Van Sumeren (the younger brother of Ben) is the only committed player in the 2022 class.
Michigan offered Traverse City (MI) Central linebacker Josh Burnham on Friday. He’s a 6’3″, 205-pounder with offers from Iowa, Michigan State, and Wisconsin, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #7 outside linebacker, and #75 overall.
As a sophomore in 2019, Burnham made 88 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions.
Michigan offered St. Peters (MO) Lutheran of St. Charles running back Arlen Harris, Jr. on Friday. He’s a 5’11”, 189-pounder with offers from Iowa, Missouri, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #15 running back, and #111 overall.
As a sophomore in 2019, he ran the ball 168 times for 1,763 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Michigan offered Omaha (NE) Burke linebacker Devon Burke on Friday. He’s a 6’2″, 200 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Kansas State, and Minnesota, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #1 outside linebacker, and #25 overall.
He claims a 10.9 in the 100 meters and 21.85 in the 200.
