DeSoto (TX) DeSoto WR Johntay Cook II (image via SI)

Note: All rankings below are based on Rivals’ rankings. I usually use 247 Composite rankings, but since I’m posting this list on multiple sites, it’s probably not the most time efficient to go through and rewrite everyone’s rankings.

CLASS OF 2023 OFFICIAL VISITORS

Brooks Bahr – DE – Chicago (IL) Loyola: Bahr is a 6’6″, 250 lb. prospect who committed to Michigan in March. He’s a 3-star and the #45 strongside defensive end in the class.

Johntay Cook II – WR – DeSoto (TX) DeSoto: Cook is a 6’0″, 170 lb. wideout with offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, and Texas, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #7 wide receiver, and #52 in the class. His official visit will actually be Monday through Wednesday (June 20-22). Michigan has landed a couple DeSoto products in recent years when they signed Gemon and German Green in the class of 2018.

Enow Etta – DE – Colleyville (TX) Covenant Christian: Etta is a 6’5″, 260-pounder with offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Stanford, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #18 weakside end, and #239 overall in the Rivals 250.

Preview of 2023 In-State Recruiting: #1-5

Detroit (MI) King QB Dante Moore

Please help out TTB with a donation:

If you read this site or are into Michigan recruiting, you probably know the names at the top of this in-state list. The ranking/order are according to the 247 Composite. I can tell you right now that I would rearrange this top five list, but until I complete my rundown of the top players in the state, I won’t really put them in order.

1. Dante Moore – QB – Detroit (MI) King
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 195 lbs.
Notable offers: LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State
Commitment: Uncommitted
247 Composite: 5-star, #3 QB, #6 overall
Analysis: Moore is a national prospect at the quarterback position and has been a widely known name for several years. He has very good anticipation and touch, along with having adequate arm strength and athleticism. He’s not a dynamic athlete with his feet, but he’s a good athlete who can move in the pocket and has really refined his footwork. He appears to be one of the most college-ready quarterbacks to come out of Michigan in a long time. Wherever he goes, he will probably be in the conversation to start by year two at the latest. Moore grew up an Ohio State fan, gets private coaching from former Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner, and has good relationships with the coaches at Notre Dame. So his future destination is up in the air right now in a hotly contested battle.

Here is an early list of players who are planning to head to Ann Arbor for The Game.

2022

Zeke Berry – S – Concord (CA) De La Salle: Berry is a 6’0″, 185-pounder with offers from Michigan, Oregon, and UCLA; he decommitted from Arizona. He’s a 4-star, the #19 safety, and #227 overall. This is an official visit.

Ethan Burke – DE – Austin (TX) Westlake: Burke is a 6’7″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Kansas State, Michigan, and Texas Tech, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star and the #40 edge player. This is an official visit.

Joshua Conerly – OT – Seattle (WA) Rainier Beach: Conerly is a 6’5″, 275-pounder with offers from Michigan, Oregon, and USC, among others. He’s a 5-star, the #3 offensive tackle, and #19 overall. He already took an official visit to Michigan – and an unofficial – so this will be his third trip to Ann Arbor. UPDATE: Conerly is no longer planning to visit.

Kiyaunta Goodwin – OT – Charlestown (IN) Charlestown: Goodwin is a 6’8″, 340 lb. prospect who’s committed to Kentucky. He also has offers from Alabama and Michigan, among others. He’s a 5-star, the #5 offensive tackle, and #30 overall.

Kenneth Grant – DT – Merrillville (IN) Merrillville: Grant is committed to Michigan.

Kevonte Henry – LB – Lawndale (CA) Leuzinger: Henry is committed to Michigan (LINK).

Domani Jackson – CB – Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei: Jackson is a 6’1″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama and Michigan, along with a bunch of others. He also just decommitted from USC last week. He’s a 5-star, the #2 cornerback, and #6 overall. He has developed a good relationship with Michigan commit Will Johnson (see below), who has been a big positive in Jackson’s recruitment. Jackson took an official visit back in September, so this is an unofficial.
