Recruiting Snapshot: Ohio State
2019 Ranking: #12 nationally. #3 in Big Ten. They have three 5-stars, seven 4-stars, and five 3-stars signed, along with one 4-star who’s a verbal commit.
Cream of the 2019 Crop: Lewis Center (OH) Olentangy Orange defensive end Zach Harrison made a late decision for the Buckeyes, picking the home-state team over Michigan and Penn State. Harrison is the #1 strongside end and #4 overall in the class. Austin (TX) Lake Travis wide receiver Garrett Wilson (#2 WR, #16 overall) and Buford (GA) Buford center Harry Miller (#2 C, #31 overall) are the other two 5-star commits. Michigan was never involved with Wilson, but the Wolverines appeared to be near the front for Miller before that recruitment went cold. Michigan had a shot, since 2018 freshman running back Christian Turner hailed from Buford, but it wasn’t meant to be.
2020 Ranking: #5 nationally. #1 in Big Ten. They have one 5-star and four 4-stars verbally committed.
Cream of the 2020 Crop: Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier offensive tackle Paris Johnson, Jr. committed to the Buckeyes in June. He’s the #1 offensive tackle and #6 overall in the 2020 class.
